Following the death of Cecil the lion, and his brother being brought in to look after his cubs - his brother has now been killed as well.

You could take a few photos there then get the 599 onto Grasmere then the 555 back to Keswick. Then dependent on the time you could either have a ride on the 77 or 77A or maybe just a 78 to Seatoller. On the way back the 73 or 73A via Caldbeck from Keswick to Carlisle makes a nice end to the day.

Very, very long outing if I was to do this, not sure if I'd want to do a 16 and a half hours outing and knowing my luck something would go wrong. Wish I had the leaflet for all services in physical form like last years summer timetable. It would be pretty expensive too although I could probably afford the costs.

Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

I think I may just do a simple trip to Keswick where I would still leave Carlisle at 1100 on the 554Â and arrive at 1211 then leave Keswick at 1335 on the 554 and arrive back in Carlisle at 1445 then head back to Newcastle.
Think it would probably be more beneficial for me to maybe stay over at least one night so I'd probably be able to be a bit more flexible with times, connections and possibly fit more in and would probably cut the amount of stress for late/missed connections etc. This wouldn't be until next year now though.
(01 Aug 2015, 9:30 pm)Tom wrote Yeah Kendal is the best place to say I'd say as you can go to Lancaster too, and nice thing to do is the 567 to Kirkby Lonsdale then the 81 to Lancaster.
(01 Aug 2015, 9:43 pm)Jimmi wrote Pointless looking into planning buses now but I'll bare that in mind if I do go next year, unsure if I'd stay one night or two but me doing it all in one day would be too much for me.
It was the Premier Inn in Kendal you were saying to stay in when the lakes was discussed before? Shouldn't be too pricy if it was booked well in advance.
Maybe looking into possibilities of doing more further afield trips next year for the hobby.
