RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
Following this evening's 500 Group meeting, I can confirm that Stagecoach on Teesside have allowed Volvo B10B 21037 to attend on Monday.
RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
As usual, I will be attending the event and will be there early doors and for most of the day.
I may continue the gradual and selective 'introduction' and 'hello' too.

I hope I'm worthy of being on your selective introduction and hello list.

If I can see you from the same angle as the photo from QCS meeting, I may recognise you.
Other than that, I wouldn't have a clue! We may have seen each other already and been non the wiser.

You know what I look like. I've never forgotten when you said you saw me on 4853 once, I looked like ''a rabbit caught in the headlights''. Tongue

I have the same haircut and t-shirt. I'll try and stand in a line-up, two or three rows deep if it will help.  Wink

Of course, it would help if I knew where and when the rally is as well as how and why - but I think I may have exhausted those lines of enquiry  Angel

Its only £8.50 for an Explorer.

Just to add, if you went with the Explorer option, getting there is not that cumbersome.

Bus from Ashington to Haymarket; Metro from Haymarket to Seaburn; approx 20 min walk from Seaburn along to the Sea Front, turn left, and walk in Northerly direction.

-or-

Bus from Ashington to Newcastle; Metro from Haymarket to Park Lane; one of the 'E's' from Park Lane to Seaburn.

-or-

Bus from Ashington to Newcastle; Metro from Haymarket to South Shields; one of the 'E's' from South Shields to Seaburn.

When is it like? You should ask Geoff.
As for the line up, make sure you have a baldy old fella sitting in the row in front. With the 'sick as a chip face' of course.

Geoff seems to think it's sometime in November. I keep on relaying this information constantly reiterated in this thread but he insists everyone is mistaken. I'm trying to convince him to, at the very least, journey with me down to Seaburn on Monday to see if it's really happening. I've even offered to drive, it's not gonna cost him anything other than time!

Hey, I believe you. It's Geoff whom you need to convince. He's adamant that it's in November.

What's parking like in Seaburn these days? I think I've finally managed to convince Geoff to accompany me on Monday. Does the car-park at Morrisons have any restrictions attached?

Don't think so, the whole area has being upgraded so not sure for parking best option is morrisons.

Hope to see a few of our members at the rally tomorrow. Don't forget, the event starts at 10:00 in the morning and admission charges are £3 for an adult; £2 for a child. The first bus to depart on shuttles leave the site at 11:00, and they run every half an hour from then on.

If it's £3 for adults and £2 for kids, how much will Geoff need to pay?

RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
(30 Aug 2015, 1:44 pm)DanPicken wrote Its not November.

I know, it's August. November comes after September and October (in that order), so it's just over two months away by my calculation. It also comes before December. After December, a new year begins! Because it is now 2015, I'm guessing next year will be 2016.

I don't know, I hear the NEBPT are a bit strict on what is allowed out on shuttles. You're either told if you're going out or not and if you miss your slot...
