There's no point now. I've already walked home in the rain. It's bound to be late with usual Monday loadings.

Of course it would be much better Monday - Friday would be even better with more early morning services. I've just realised I checked Metro times for a Sunday earlier even though its a Saturday service that's an extra 10 minutes in the house for me.

H106 is presently sat between Portrack Interchange and the Billingham/Norton turn-off with what we think is diesel issues. 21037 has gone back for more.

Decided not to go as it was chucking it down when I woke up this morning, plus the fact it would of cost £10 before I even stepped foot on a potentially muddy field in Bus Fare/Entry Fee to the Rally, which further put me off going, doubt I have missed much anyway to be honest as it is usually the same Vehicles every year anyway.
RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
I missed it due to my really bad knee, anyhow.. what turned up this year?

Did any of the big companies turn up?

Seaburn is one I've always been a bit more fond of as I also have an interest in cars. I've been for the past few years, including a year or two before I started taking photographs of buses, given my interest in cars (although don't photograph these as I do with buses now).

Last year, I felt that there wasn't a great deal present, so I went straight past on the bus (no doubt this was caused by the fact that Go North East didn't support the event by bringing a few vehicles). I'm glad I went this year, as, all in all, it seemed to be well-organised and there was quite a good variety of vehicles present (some I'd never / rarely seen at previous rallies, and the usual ones we see at most rallies). Go North East brought an Olympian to commemorate the fact that it's the last time one of these vehicles will go to a rally (whilst in service) as well as a Red Kite Volvo B9TL.

I wasn't close enough to see exactly what happened, but it appeared that Bazza was hit by another enthusiast, who had been provoking him prior. Bazza screamed very loudly (as if he had been hurt), and ran away to try and avoid this enthusiast. I didn't see him after that, so I'd expect he left the event to get away from this enthusiast completely. Don't care if he's on this forum or is friends with members of this forum - the enthusiast who provoked Bazza showed absolutely disgraceful behaviour, and he should have left Bazza alone after he was asked to do so. One of the reasons why I don't go to all of these events...

You know, it's this kind of behaviour that makes me embarrassed to be an enthusiast. I've already got myself into cars and more into trains as an alternative to buses.

If I know who I think it was, there will be a very childish status on Facebook later saying the complete opposite of above as he's a lying, twisting bulls**tter who prances around gayly and is an absolute k**b. Pardon my French.
RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
I really enjoyed the rally, despite the weather. A good selection of vehicles there, and a few that we haven't seen for a long time too. I had a ride out on National YFY4M, Dart 33101, Bristol VR LFS296F, and Bristol VR H106. The highlight was the open topper, despite me inadvertently soaking people from the tree branches. Tongue I'd put a pretty long rant after the Seaburn Rally last year, as I didn't think it offered much, but I found this the complete opposite and it was certainly worth getting up for.

RE: The Bazza incident. What a disgusting way for people to go on! Andrew Todd (aw bugger I've just named him!) had came away from Bazza, and was ranting on about something he'd said. He then went storming back over there, despite the advice of his friends. Bazza had raised his voice and told him to back off or something, yet that Andrew started chasing him round and behind the buses - ffs this is a 33yr old guy we're talking about here! Andrew looked to have went at him behind them, and the next thing we heard was Bazza screaming like he'd been hit, and we didn't see anything else of him afterwards.

Also to the morons that were standing laughing at the whole thing. The lot of you should know better, and what you're laughing at is a lad with disabilities getting bullied. Scumbags.

Disgusting quite frankly, we get a bad enough reputation from the public as it is and people like this are only going to add to this negative stamina some people have for us. It in some ways makes me ashamed to be a bus enthusiast if this is how some people act whilst participating in this hobby.

Anyway, I enjoyed myself today (apart from the weather) it was good to see a decent selection of buses there which was a relief especially after last year when there didn't seem to be much going on. Was also nice to see some NEB members again. Overall it was an enjoyable day out and I am now in Park Lane waiting for the 22 to Peterlee where I will then catch the 21 back to Aycliffe.

And I have just had to run like mad across Park Lane Interchange for the 20 to Durham as the 22 didn't turn up.

Seriously those of you who have a regular bus service in Tyne and Wear honestly don't know the struggles some of us have to get anywhere on a Sunday service timetable, I know some do have it worse than me.

I saw this they had allegedly been saying things about each other Bazza told Andrew to F*** off when he called him Barry then Andrew started walking away then ran back after him and the scream was Bazza shouting for his Dad as he had slid on the mud and Andrew was about to kick him but we managed to stop him and Bazza managed to get to his Dad and we walked Andrew away to try and calm him down but I walked away to try and find Bazza and make sure he was alright and Lee came over and said that Andrew has various disabilities himself but Lee said after he was sticking up for Andrew Bazza then left after his Dad and Andrew exchanged words Lee Andrew and Alex all apparently went to the Police Station in Newcastle.

I then walked around bt myself for a few minutes until Jack and Sid came we went in 3814's cab then when 33101 came out we boarded along with you Marcus Jimmi and Dan. When we got back we looked around the stallls in which Sid bought a roller blind originally £25 and negotiated down to £12. Davie then texted me saying that he was nearly there on the E6 so I sat outside and waited we then got on 3814 then 6121 the Lee Andrew and Alex came back so me and Davie left and went our own ways.

I thought the behaviour shown by that group (I won't name...) was absolutely disgusting. Bazza; regardless of whether or not you like or him or dislike him, most likely came to the event in hopes of just getting a few photos and keeping a low profile, yet a number of us saw the incident unfolding... It's not on.

We are at Peterlee now - we have lost our northbound support vehicle (21037) but instead have AFB586V supporting us.

The issue northbound was fuel. Not sure what the earlier issue was but it was eventually fixed. It now gets a well-earn rest for a few weeks before we have our next trip out with it.

Seaburn Bus Rally
I've had a tremendous day, spoiled only a little by the weather. The group I was with had a good day as well, really enjoyed a ride on H106, which was extremely sprightly for such an old bus. My little boy loved it, and had to be virtually dragged off when it got back. There was a great selection of vehicles, and it was fantastic seeing them in such great condition. I've always liked Seaburn as an event, probably my favourite one of the year, will definitely be going next year if work allows.

As aureolin and I discussed earlier; I think a lot of people view Bazza with rose-tinted glasses, and form their opinions based on hear-say and past incidents. Just because there have been incidents in the past doesn't mean to say that Bazza can't ever be the victim, and this is proven by today's incident in which he did appear to be the victim.

Just to add my observations on the Bazza incident.

You know, I understand some on here have taken to ostracising Bazza and rejecting his company whenever he approaches which, as nasty as is it is, you are well within you rights to do if you choose. However, to do so in favour of knocking around with this apparent clown, is not going to elevate your popularity within any enthusiast circles or indeed any other walk of life. If you think this guy is going to somehow allow you eschew the stereotype associated with spotters then think again. If anything, this guy is the most extreme version of that stereotype.

...And that's putting it mildly!

RE: Seaburn Bus Rally
I agree completely with what is being said on here. I am glad to say though, that Andrew did not hit Bazza and in fact Bazza slipped over. However, that still doesn't mean that Andrew shouldn't be chasing I'm around.

I can also confirm that this whole going to the police station talk is utter bullshit.

I have been on the phone to Bazza, Bazza's Dad and Andrew to try and work out who has caused all of this, and me and Baz's dad came to the conclusion that they are both as bad as each other.

One think I must note though is that this 33 year old man has the mental age of a child.

I am glad to say that Bazza is fine and I had a laugh with him on the phone earlier.

Finally, I must note that Andrew did apologise several times on the phone to me regarding this event. I have now passed this message onto Bazza who appears to be glad that Andrew has apologised.

I hope this post ends all of the speculation.
