Just a bit bored, so I thought I share some old photos from at least 9 years ago.
No doubt you notice the services may no longer run or the vehicle is no longer with the company (or gone all together in some cases)
Seen in March 2004 at Wallsend Metro on service 341 is Gateshead based Scania L94UB / Wright Solar 4946 (NK51OLM).
Seen in July 2004 at Bishop Auckland Bus Station on service 82 is Optare Excel 8144 (R244OCU).
Seen in September 2004 in St Mary's Place on service 305 is Dennis Trident / ELC Lolyne 3862 (W862PNL) still carrying it's original 301 branding. The destination that is missing from the rearmost window was Metrocentre, this was removed after the service was cut back to Gateshead.
Seen in August 2004 at Doxford International on service 139 is Dennis Dart SLF / Marshall Capital 591 (T422AGP). IIRC this was published in Buses Magazine.
Seen in September 2004 at the High Flatworth guided bus gate on service R19 is Scania L94UB / Wright Solar 4975 (NK53UOB). This was the first day of this service.
Seen in January 2005 at Heworth Interchange on the 194 is Transbus Enviro 300 number 4977 (SN04EGF) which was on loan to Go North East for over a year. The collapse of Transbus International put GNE from ordering any of these vehicles.
Seen in February 2005 on Rosehill Bank on service 301 is Dennis Trident / ELC 3868 (W178SCU).
Seen in June 2005 on the A19 near Herrington on the X10 is Volvo B7TL / Wright Eclipse Gemini 3943 (NK05GZR) which had just recently entered service at the time of the photo.
Seen in June 2005 on the South End of the Tyne Bridge on the 24 is Volvo B6 / Plaxton Pointer 8404 (L404FVN). Note the friendly wave from the driver.
Seen in September 2005 at Bishop Auckland depot are Leyland Olympian / N-C Palatine 1s 3806 (F106UEF) & 3810 (K110YVN). This photo has ended up in Buses Magazine and the History of the Go-Ahead Group book. Also at the time this was the oldest surviving of the Olympians new to OK Travel (F105UEF got burned out not long before Go-Ahead aquired OK Travel) and the newest member.
Seen in June 2006 climbing Old Durham Road at Deckham on service 57 is Dennis Lance / Plaxton Verde 4774 (L141YTY)
Seen in July 2006 at Sunderland Interchange on service X2 are Volvo B10M / Plaxton Expressliners 7062 (GSK762) & 7075 (YSU875).
Seen in July 2006 at Team Valley North End of service 809 is Volvo B10B / Plaxton Verde 9603 (N603FJO) which was on loan from the Oxford Bus Company.
Seen in March 2007 in Cuthbert Street, Teams on service 54 is Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton SPD 8171 (S371ONL).
Seen in June 2007 on the Centrelink on service X66 is Volvo B7LA / Wright Streetcar 9171 (YN07SYJ). Go North East became the first operator other than First Group to operate this vehicle type.
Seen in September 2007 in Rosehill on service X68 is Scania L94UB / Wright Solar 4976 (NK53UOC). The X68 was introduced as a trial service between North Tyneside and the Metrocentre in the run up to Christmas 2007. It used Route 19 branded Solars which were spare on the weekends. The service however wasn't a success, though I did find it useful.
Seen on my 23rd Birthday in October 2007 at Morpeth Bus Station on service 414 is Leyland Lynx Mk2 4996 (J653UHN).
And the final photo, taken in November 2007 at Cuthbert Street in Teams on service 29 is Optare Solo 613 (NM02DNU). This vehicle was new to Stanley Taxis and carried the registration ON02STX.
Some old Go North East Photos.
