I would say the Debate is between ourselves, I would like to think GNE look at the Service Suggestions Thread, but I doubt they do, although there is a few GNE Employees who are members of this Forum who have a look and pass them on.

548 (NA52AXO) now has a refurbished interior. Looks smart, but would look even better if they had a full refurbishment (floor, handrails etc.)

Well, on top of what Michael has already given examples of: I suggested a Sunderland - Middlesbrough express - though I did, rather irrationally admittedly, suggest that one of the TTX services were re-routed.
We've got the X7 now! Wink

I know that the Sunderland to Peterlee express section was already in the pipeline when the late Peter Huntley was MD at GNE, and then it more or less followed the old 211 route at Wingate section.

I remember when GNE on facebook mentioned the X7 arrival and saying about this will be the first time that these 2 places will be put together by bus, even though Arriva used to run the 214 between these 2 places and GNE already operated the 210 between Sunderland and Middlesbrough then later on became the number 30 between Sunderland and Hartlepool as at that time Arriva and GNE were on each overs toes.

I'm sure the 210 used to operate Middlesbrough-Peterlee, then change onto a 202?

The 210 was Peterlee-Sunderland, inter working with the 211. The 210 was what remained of the 30 which actually came before the Jayline takeover.

It was the 211 wasn't it, which they inherited from Jayline... 492 seen in Wolviston Village

When was jayline bus services took on by GNE?
Was it 2006 when Arriva and GNE were banging there heads together on some of the routes?

I remember the solos on the 210 leaving Sunderland with Middlesbrough Destination on them, the service was a through service at Peterlee.

timetables are in the bygone era under northern.

I remember when GNE were using Jayline solos on the 210 and 211 and later became the mpds and then the mpds were made up branded the Thirty and afterwards the service was withdrawn when Arriva and GNE backed down and the branded buses were parked up at the rear or Deptford in the withdrawn area.

The 202 was an outcome from the 152 Sunderland to Peterlee

152 Sunderland to Peterlee
then became
62 Sunderland to Peterlee using the grey crappy drifters inline with the 60 and 61.
then became
162 Peterlee to Seaham
then became
202 Peterlee to Sunderland

Citaro 5358 – 5368 filling the void on MetroLINK / Connections 4 service, will allow the following will occur:
  • Scania 4956, 4957, 4958, 4959 and 4960 will move to Chester-le-Street for 28/28A services, to be branded in 2/3 weeks.
  • Scania 4961, 4962 and 4963 are due to remain at Washington as allocated Northern vehicles.
  • Scania 4964 and 4965 will move to Deptford as allocated Northern vehicles.
  • Scania 4966 will move to Gateshead as an allocated Northern vehicle.

8 10.8 metre Streetlite for Drifter service 60
  • 8302 to 8305 are destined for Lambton Worm services 34/34A.
  • 8306 to 8309 are destined for Simplicity, providing a 10 minute 39 service.

8 11.5 metre Streetlite for Saltwell Park services 53/54
  • 8294 to 8301 are now destined for South Tyne services 88/88A.

17 Volvo B9/Wright Gemini for Coblalt Clipper services
  • Mercedes Citaro 5331 to 5238 are destined for Pronto services X21.
  • 6 Scania Omnicity are expected to move to Whey-Aye-Five-0 services 50/50A.
  • 4 Scania Omnicity are expected to move to Stanley for services X30

Rob being sneaky, just noticed a new part of hes list!

Seem's the best idea, just hope the Pronto and the Whey-Aye-Five-0 don't get a rubbish brand because of this.

I thought the Cobalt Citaro's will be going on the service 35 series, so the 35 will be all Citaro's.

There should put the Cobalt Citaro's on the X35, as the X35 needing an upgrade.

Ok then, explain how the B7TLs on Pronto would then be replaced? The whole reason the Citaros are going on there, in effect replacing Olympians.

Scania's - 6 for 6 + 1 of Scania 4964 and 4965 - which is moving on Deptford soon?

I'd say the X21 jusitfies the Citaros more then the X35, considering there's rumours of a frequency increase (hence why it appears Gateshead's 5332 is also transferring to Crook).
RE: Go North East - Latest
What are the loadings like these days on the X21? 3 year old Mercs, maybe stick in a bit of wi-fi and a nice shiny brand (maybe along the lines of Citylink or Tynedale Express - definately an improvement on recent efforts) with a bit of marketing....

I assume the fact that Arriva have also recently upped their game on the express Newcastle - Durham market may be in their thinking as well?

What is it rumored to be changing to, every 15 mins?

Doesnt the crusader need all of its Citaro's though?

Have we got any confirmation for where all the 56 Scania's are heading?

It does look that the Wear's Tee's Express will get 4
5 for South Tyne 5?
5 for FAB 57?

Leaving 2 left for spares?

I think that part of the post is incorrect - Do not think 5332 is going to Crook Tongue

Rumour is every 20 minutes (every 15 would mean doubling the PVR).

X21 is very busy between Durham and Newcastle, could be better on the Bishop leg, but that isn't helped by convoys of late running 6s poaching passengers. The reliability on the 6 is terrible in general with a hotch-potch of buses being used. Usually a mix of Pulsar, decker, Prestige and today a Solo

They've put it on Facebook and have received negative comments about over loadings ie New bus is considerably smaller than the Bendy buses. I think GNE must be expecting a few negative comments, but wifi will be a bonus.

Im also reading the comments and to be fair their right but id rather have new buses with WIFI then a bendy any day, they moan about the bendies anyway, can't GNE win?
