Two delivered yesterday, and it was noted on here that they'd been taken to Stanley and then on to Riverside.

I think it's one to wait and see beyond that.

A photo has appeared on one of the many North East Facebook Group of the two transferred Omnidekkas (see attached - copyright belongs to Michael Mccalla) which are GX03 SSZ and GX03STZ - the two convertible open top versions

Could this indicate GNE gaining the Sight Seeing route from stagecoach?

I just saw (and heard) 547 (I think) come up along the A692. I heard it before I saw it, and it was similar speeds to the broken V327LCG the other day. I don't have high hopes for any of those two buses, they sound ill and make the street smell awful.

I'd say it's more a case that it's a continuation of the 03-reg batch GNE received last year. 617 & 618 form part of that.

No - it means it's still out of service whilst parked up at Hogarths, Birtley.

It was involved in a fatality whilst in service. It's an ongoing legal case, so not open for discussion on the forum.

With the last Scania getting repainted "Red" for the 39, when will we see them branded?

I've seen by riverside vykings up near lanchester before on training, I feel they just go where ever there's an area that fits a specified list of requirements. If you see my picture on flickr https://flic.kr/p/HYseA7 this particular bus has been floating around Lobley Hill and everywhere imbetween there and Percy Main.

Still at Percy Main.  It was doing route training for new service 11 (replacement for 96).

No, but they may be using the DFDS buses in between runs on the Bergens for route learning.

Who brings the New and second hand buses here to the North East.

For example the buses now coming up from Brighton & Hove, who brings them, do GNE send down drivers or do B&H drivers bring them up?
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2016
Are the Omnidekkas that are coming from B&H likely to receive a re-furb? Just looking at Dans photos of the interior of one of them, the seating looks quite worn in places.

I do like the drivers cab though!

What sort of life span will GNE be expecting to get from these Omnidekkas, considering that they are already around 12 to 13 years old.

I'd be very surprised if they weren't at least retrimmmed. Part of the previous batch wasn't, but after less than a year in service here, I'd argue that they need to be done.

I'd expect the same as the B7 Presidents... so 4 years max from the 03 regs.

They meet half way.

Brighton & Hove's staff will take them so far, then Go North East's staff will meet them and take them back up to the North East (having travelled down in one of the company vans/minibuses).

The handover point is usually at Watford Gap Services.
