Nothing been said on twitter etc about the 18, But I believe its doing the annual Great North Run routing, running a circular around Simonside, Down Winskell Road and back onto Green Lane to continue back to Shields.

Nothing but chaos around the estate tonight, No buses could serve the estate earlier due to a accident at the John Reid Road junction and now the other end is cut off due to this flood.

18 should revert to its normal routing around the estate from start of service tomorrow morning, As it doesn't serve the Lindisfarne exit, 88/88A however will remain severly affected if the flooding continues.

Normal Service routing has been resumed, First 88 I saw through the estate was around 45 mins ago.

Service 18 was not affected this morning from the start of service as predicted.

Speaking of the Tyne Tees Xpress...

Go North East has received a demonstrator ADL Enviro400 City vehicle, which will be used on Tyne Tees Xpress services X9/X10 from tomorrow. It has been allocated fleet number 9098. It is of a premium specification, featuring coach style leather seats, tables with LED lighting, and USB sockets.

6043 - 6048 are now over four years old and have had extremely hard lives. I drove these buses on the TTX for a year in 2014, prior to retiring and when I left, each bus had close to half a million km on the clock after just two years service. After four years service they will now be approaching one million km. When you consider that this involves five or six return trips you Middlesbrough every day working hard on the A19, I think they have done very well. But even considering their relatave youth, they are probably now due to be moved to less demanding duties, and it is good to see that GNE are possibly considering this.

Could just be due the colour of it, but compared to the regular E400 MMC that thing looks hideous!

Expect there to be a queue of enthusiasts at Eldon Square tomorrow to get the "first photo" of it in service.

Just a personal opinion, so don't bite my head off, but I think the design of this ADL is streets ahead of the Optare Metrodekka
