On a different note, an Optare bus in Saltmeadows seemed to be getting a shade of paint applied that looks like it belongs on the 28. Didn't get to have a proper look unfortunately.

693 and 694 have both been repainted into the maroon base livery:

Same shade as the current X7 Mercedes Citaros.

Ye, the new timetables for the new X6/X7 show they'll be allocated solo sr's from the date of the changed.

5333 has gone from WTX to the new "Go North East" livery - currently unknown where the WTX Citaro's are going.

Also...

Looks like 5333/34 have lost their WIFI to the Solo Sr's.

I've picked up 9098 has been running the 10.30 - 12.00 from Newcastle - Middlesbrough this week.
Has it been running the 9.00 - 10.30 Middlesbrough - Newcastle?
Thanks Tongue

Both the X30 and X31 running was another one that caught my attention.

Thanks [emoji14]

I would imagine that it has been on the 09:00 X9 from Middlesbrough all week. So I would gamble on it being on that run again tomorrow. If not, someone will probably post it's whereabouts.

Dropped out again tonight. NIS at Heworth, northbound at approximately 1630.
Half an hour earlier in Gateshead, a B7 and branded B9 were minutes behind each other heading south.

Not the only services affected by any stretch.

I'm on 9098 now it's on its way towards Middlesbrough aabout half an hour late should be in Gateshead soon

At 15:45 there was a branded TTX bus sitting at the bottom of the northbound lay-by at peterlee with a depot person, looks like was waiting for the next X10 arrival from Middlesbrough.

Unless bus broke down before hand.

It's just going to get even later - took me ages to drive over Hylton Bridge. Traffic was worse than normal on that stretch.

There's a lot of delays in Newcastle and I think it's also got passengers who were waiting for the X10

The 6 is also running late into the night (quater past midnight finish).
There is no direct link between annfield plain/dipton and consett.
There are also 6 services running under what is normally Stanley (V7, X30/1, 6, 16a and 47), so I'm assuming Stanley depot will be open.
The timetable for the 6 is somewhat odd, there's a gap of 90 minutes between an evening run.

There is never a direct link between Consett and Stanley on Boxing Day and i don't think there really needs to be.

Stanley depot, along with all the others which were open for the first time on Boxing Day last year, are all likely to be open again.

I havent ever been bothered enough to know what happens on a boxing day before, I'm learning!
I will probably just stick to stanley's operations as ever, though!

Boxi day timetables. Thought the 309/310 would of ran to get most of the match fans to and from the game instead of coming off early. Also no 1 from whitley bay - north shields like past few years

Re Boxing Day, It looks like the extra services on the 21 are for boozers as opposed to match goers.

Match finishes at 9.30 but there's no bus between 21.15 and 22.55?!
Wistfully stuck in the 90s
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016
Have to say feel sorry for some drivers who do the 5/50 very long shift a 50 to shields then 5 to jarrow and back then do a 50 again

Long shift it may be, but there are lots of other routes at other depots that have long stints on one vehicle. At least with the 5/50, you aren't going round and round in circles all of the time, imagine doing 5 hours on the 34/34A.

Never mind the 34 and 34A - what about the S1?  Tongue

Shift pattern goes as follows

Driver Changeover at Concord in Shields direction
50 to Shields
5 to Jarrow
5 to Shields
50 to Durham
50 to Shields ( Shieft ends at Concord ) Quick estimation is around 4.5 to 5 hours per shift.

Id happily do the 5/50 for that amount of time though, The S1 is one I really feel for drivers for driving it.

Are they thinking of putting it on the X10 (not including the evening and Sunday variation which, if out tomorrow, it will obviously be on)? It seems to have been on the X9 every day so far.

No - most (if not all) normal X10 boards get back to the depot way after 19:00 or do five round trips opposed to four.

The bus isn't fitted with a radio and there are union agreements in place for when buses without a working radio have to be back to the depot by.

The boards 9098 has been allocated to are the earliest return cars possible.

Has 699 entered service yet?, if so, which MPD's have Deptford lost?
