Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2017

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2017
Not sure what the craic is tonight, but at least two vehicles have had problems with their wheels/tyres at the Lake Road roundabout.

A SR on the 237 is having work done on it's nearside as I type. Earlier on, a Durham bound purple Streetlite had a fitter working on it's offside.

I can think of some Tynedale Links services that would manage with 16 seats . . .

Vehicle depreciation and fuel would be lower than Solos.

(19 Apr 2017, 3:50 pm)Dan wrote Sub-branding for the 12/12A services still applied.

The cant rail is planned to be stripped and replaced with a similar style depicted by the OmniDekka on the timetable for the revised 6 service prior to 21st May.

This work is being carried out today and tomorrow, now that all of the former 12/12A OmniCitys are at Stanley.

(03 May 2017, 7:20 pm)S813 FVK wrote When reading the news update this afternoon, I paid close attention to the fact that 641-649 have had their Next Stop Announcements removed. I then looked and realised that this totalled 9 vehicles there are currently 9 'indiGo' branded vehicles without Next Stop Announcements (625/7/31/2 at Percy Main and 701-705 at Washington). Could it be possible that the systems will be refitted into these vehicles?

650 - 652 had their Next Stop Announcements removed today too, so I think we'll have to knock that idea on the head!  Tongue

Can the 36 be allocated deckers, or is there a LB near Silksworth or something?

I can imagine the day that a Hybrid crawls through Sunderland Interchange.

Yeah, there's at least one Vyking on almost daily.

I'm always tempted to report to Rare/Odd working when all 4 versas are on the 34/34A.

3983 was the only one in the past few years - don't forget Ambassador's favourite buses, though! They'll find their way on to it.

Just skirt and rear panel tidy-up having incurred minor accident damage - not a full red repaint.

(02 May 2017, 4:12 pm)Dan wrote The cant rail has been revised to show a similar style as the cant rail on the Durham Diamond Streetlites - it reads:
"Buses run early til late • Into the heart of the city up to every 20 minutes".

The idea is that the cant rails on most branded buses will have a similar style, where possible, for consistency. I believe the Saltwell Park Streetlites will have their cant rails stripped with a new white vinyl added on in the coming weeks.

I can confirm that all of the relevant feature symbols are present and correct!

Are the Red Kite's planned to gain revised route details? I think the 10 minute frequency between Rowlands Gill and Newcastle may be a good focus.

With Stagecoach confirming they'll no longer run the 8 (South Hylton to Docks) on a evening and Sunday, what will Go North East allocate to the service?

I think its 681/9/90 that are allocated to the 135/136 on evenings and Sundays. 5438/9 are usually on the 9 on Sundays.

I thought 135/136 are ran by Red Solos SR because the boards are run offs the 33

Could swear I seen it heading over the bridge at about 5 tonight.

Yes, you will have - 5234-5242/50/3 all gained the revised taglines either today or yesterday.

No longer planned to go for refurbishment due to the impending return of 5292, 5332 was stripped of its Cinderella Bus promotional livery yesterday afternoon.

This mean 5331 & 5332 will just end up going to Deptford to make up the PVR of the 9?
