That would be a good idea, to set it out like the "Black Cats" and "Toonlink".

Don't know if this is true, but heard from a Stanley driver that next year the depot at Stanley is splitting. The 6, X30/1 and 47 are going to riverside and the rest of the routes are going down to a new proposed depot in Consett (not the old Delves Lane one). How much of this is true and/or even heard of?

Don't think such things would be confirmed, if true, and a very big if, until plans were in action and were finalised. Stuff like that is normally financially structured, as such is normally withheld from disclosure to even drivers and such until it actually concerns them. Better to play it by ear with these sorts of things. Whatever happens, happens - whatever doesn't - doesn't.

Interesting, would Riverside have room though?, unless other routes move out.

Just have to wait and see.

My dad heard that something was happening to Stanley depot from one of the old 689 drivers he was talking to at Tanfield School. It was news to me at the time when I was told me later. A proposed depot at Consett was mentioned then too.

47 back to Riverside? The Traffic Comissioner would be having GNE for dinner in terms of fines for late running and even more so under the new universal GNE licence!

Hmmmmm I am not sure if mr Carr would reveal such an wye catching design to the public, being the managing director of the company and I assume well in the knowledge that this is commercially sensitive information.... Angel

I believe the drawing for the new X9/X10 was shown to enthusiasts in a presentation by the Managing Director Kevin Carr to the Northern Group Enthusiasts Club, held not so long ago, at Riverside Depot.

Sort of like a "This is where we were 50 years ago - look at us now" kind of thing.

Indeed it was shown by Mr Carr to the Northern Group Enthusiasts Club, just a drawing of one side of a bus with the brand on.

When the new X9/X10 timetable gets launched, will the changeovers due to the longer layover times take place at Eldon Square with drivers getting to and from Riverside on the 45/46/47 instead of Gateshead Interchange?

No, they will still remain at Gateshead.

What's the new brand called for the X9/X10 since its public knowledge and not secretive with GNE.
