Yes - I don't really understand the post to be honest.

Washington spares usually end up on any of they services, even though I think citaros would be a better allocation to the 5/50 then the omnicities
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - October 2017
He means, if the Citaro's at Washington are going back to Washington after refurbishment, then they would be higher spec than the current Connections 4 Citaro's, as that batch doesn't have USB plugs.

With regards to depot standardisation I would go with the following.

5304 to 5309 remain at Deptford for the 9

5324/25 - Spares at Washington for the 4/5 & 50
5326 to 5336 - Branded at Washington for the 5 & 50
5337/38 - Spares at Washington for the 4/5 & 50

As a result of the above 5243 to 5247 and 5255 to 5260 would transfer to Deptford for the 35 with the remaining being spares.

Really don't agree with Deptford getting refurbished Citaros !!!!

Services X5, 9 and 35 all have/are getting them, but they are NOT used on Evening/Sunday, when incorrect branded Streetlites are used.

Refurbished Citaros should go on routes that use correct branded buses at all times, ie Loop and Green Arrow.

A better solution would be to tidy up 5218-28, repaint and brand as Black Cats.

Really think that 5377-84/5385/90 should be repainted and branded Green Arrow, with 5389 as spare (beamish)
with 5306-09/5323-6 for Citylink58 (5305 spare),
and 5328-36 repainted black for loop 93/94 (5327 spare).

In addition
8306 to Chester for 34/34A (leave as GNE corporate)
8307/08 on to South Tyne 88/88A, with 8309 as spare (leave as GNE corporate)

5229-32 to Percy Main for service 19 plus 5210 as spare
4978-82 to Riverside for 67/69 (4+1 spare)

5387/8 all get purple Q1/2 branding,
8316/17/18 get green Q3 branding, allowing same batch on Q3
5385 repainted for Green Arrow, with 8335 taking its place on Q1/2 allocation (kept as pride)
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - October 2017
Another idea from me.

Angel gets 17 Streetdecks.

6056 to 6070 go to Riverside for the 53/54 & 58
As a result of service changes they would merge together into one service numbered 53/54 operating every 7/8 Minutes between Heworth and Gateshead, every 15 minutes on the existing 53/54 route, basically the route would be like this.
Heworth - Leam Lane Estate - Felling Square - Deckham - Gateshead - Newcastle - Bensham Road - Saltwell Park - Coatsworth Road - Gateshead - Deckham - Felling Square - Leam Lane Estate - Heworth

This would then allow the following.
8339 to 8346 transfer to Deptford for the 35
5377 to 5384,5389,5390 transferring to Chester for the single deck boards of 13/14/X25 & services 28/28A.
3961 to 3964 would remain at Chester for the double deck boards of the 13/14/X25.

As for the Citaros I would go with what I said earlier.

5304 to 5309 remain at Deptford for the 61
Black Cats Scania L94's would the be allocated to the 9/38

5324/25 - Spares at Washington for the 4/5 & 50
5326 to 5336 - Branded at Washington for the 5 & 50
5337/38 - Spares at Washington for the 4/5 & 50

The Omnicities would then go to Percy Main for the 11/19 with the Scania L94's/Volvo B7RLE's replacing older Scania L94's in the fleet.

Forgot that versas end at 38 [emoji23]

GNE should put the versas from fleet number series 5000 into the 8000 series of numbers and change the streetlites from the 8000 over to the 5000 series of fleet numbers [emoji23]or start all over again [emoji23]

It's because the Saltwell Park Streetlites are shorter than the full size ones, so they've got midibus fleet numbers. I think they're too small for the 35 though, don't see why they'd get rid of Citaros on the 35.

Cheers for the info, I always thought there might of been some kind of merit for service 35 to be extended from low moorsley to high or low pittington, even a circular route in pittington, for potential of passengers wanting to go to houghton, hetton or even Sunderland , seems that GNE doesn't want to dip into the market going into County Durham from this side of Tyne and Wear except the original service which the X5 has claimed, even extending one or 2 journeys on the X1 towards haswell, Wheatley hill and thornley in a circular.

My understanding is Stanley will just be a low cost unit with all of the work shifted between riverside and chester. The 6+6a would probably see action from gateshead amongst late 47/45E/45 trips (it closes at 1030pm). The night 15s and 16s would a good way for chester to get a low cost unit of their own established, too - amongst service 40/700s.

Not looking good.

Don’t believe everything you read Or hear Jamie. Stanley is not becoming a low cost unit and the work is not getting shifted between Chester & riverside. Ground work has already started on the new depot down at hownsgill (opp international cuisine).

Indeed! Ihad been told that the new depot had been put on hold for now - that obviously is not the case.

5229 has now transferred to Chester-le-Street, following repaint.

(15 Oct 2017, 10:25 am)Michael wrote Will that batch be spares at Chester?

They will be allocated to services 13/14, X22 and X25, displacing older examples of the same vehicle type elsewhere.

This batch of Scania L94s feature high-backed seating, making them more appropriate on the express services where passengers undertake longer journeys. It also provides Chester-le-Street with more appropriate spare vehicles for the Coast & Country services, in the event that more than one Streetlite is VOR.

Suspect it won't be long before one ends up back at Crook! Bit nostalgia for the drivers, eh?

5229 entered service at Chester-le-Street today:

Don’t think there’s a month gone by without Jamie mentioning Stanley being operated as a low cost depot. Something to think about Jamie, a lot of Stanley drivers have been there for well over 10 years, so you tell them their wages are being cut by up to £4 per hour. Trust me there’ll be very few buses rolling out of Stanley depot under your plans. Sure Kevin carr and the board would love your plans but none of the driving staff do, rant over.

I did hear a rumour that the allocation would be split between Chester and Riverside with only the Venture and Metro Mini's remaining at the new Consett Depot.... clearly that's now changed because the Depot will allow up to 62 buses..... the Toonlink is the only routes which i could see being split between Consett and Riverside.

Stanley currently have 76, so something will move out.

6,6a,M6,M7,M8 & X31 are supposed to go to riverside all other services will run out of Consett. However some boards on toon links do roll on/off either a 6 or X31. Time will tell.

Ah right, thanks, apparently the land at the front of Riverside has been purchased by GNE, and the land opposite Riverside is also GNEs.
