6320 together with 6316/19 I photographed on Saturday - 6317 was out on Sunday I noticed, and going off the news section, 6325 is the latest to enter service today.

Believe 'Night Angel' 6070 has left Chester for repaint... thought they would of left that till one of the last ones considering it's short repaint spell.

I hope the brand one of new streetdecks otherwise that would of been a bit of a pointless advertising campaign

Close but no cigar: 6060 was the one which was taken out of service today for repaint/branding.

6070 is VOR at Volvo for repairs - believe it was mentioned recently in the thread. It should indeed be the last to undergo repaint.

Damn Chinese whispers!
I was disappointed not to see it out on Saturday, so paint shop sounded plausible too.

Still seems quite shortsighted, as I'm sure GNE would have already been in the process of ordering the Streetdecks in the summer when it was repainted?

Or the marketing campaign was planned to start ready for Christmas (when arguably more people are likely to use the night bus services), so the cost of repainting and branding a bus could be justified?

Not shortsighted at all, in my view, if it was planned all along...

A taxplateless unbranded unregistered Streetdeck on the A184 - The driver seemed to be having issues with the handbrake as it was stuck there for 5 minutes solid with the guy frantically messing around with controls.

Surely if it was planned all along GNE would have had the Streetdecks delivered slightly earlier, with one arriving in the night bus livery?

6315, this one.

Delivery driver a little lost in the heart of Gateshead, so it seems...

No - unlikely to be back this week.

The delivery of the StreetDecks was done at the earliest possible opportunity.

Wrightbus have many other customers besides Go North East; so they tell the customer when the buses can be delivered, not the other way round. Operators can suggest a time when they ideally need the buses by, but the bus manufacturer is able to tell the operator that this would not be achievable, and it is up to the operator to find another manufacturer able to meet this deadline. With such a large order, it's even more difficult to get a delivery any earlier than normal. The other alternative to get the buses sooner would have been to put the order in sooner, but I imagine this went in at the earliest opportunity as well.

What you have to keep in mind is that this order falls in the 2017/18 financial year (beginning in July for Go-Ahead), so could not come any sooner than it has done. It takes months to build a bus, not a matter of weeks, especially with all of the customised options for Go North East.

They don't just go out on a whim and paint up and brand a bus, on the off chance that it'll be around for a while before needing to be painted and branded again. I've said it several times in the past, but there's always a bit of logic with everything, even if not immediately clear to us. Wink

Another 'baby' Solo (albeit slightly longer than the examples already in the fleet).

Cathedral Bus at Stanley - catch it while you can, won't be here long.

Didn't leave Saltmeadows Road until mid-day, so didn't have time to be pushed out yesterday afternoon before final prep completed at the depot.

Should enter service today - news section amended.

6316, 6317, 6319 and 6320 are now in service at Chester-le-Street. 6325 is in use at Chester-le-Street for further driver familiarisation. This, so far, has released 3 Hybrids (6056 and 6061, now at Percy Main, and 6060 which is at Saltmeadows Rd for repaint).

6324 (delivered Monday - now half branded), 6315 (delivered yesterday - should have been branded today), 6322/23 (delivered earlier today - to be branded tomorrow) and 6321 (to be delivered tonight - to be branded on Friday) are the ones at Saltmeadows Road. So five at Saltmeadows Road.

6318 and 6328 are two further examples currently at Heysham Docks, expected to be delivered tomorrow.

Reading on the news, looks like 2 euro 6 Solo's has had to be ordered as part of the contract... hence why the 09 reg solo's weren't branded.

No doubt the 2, 09 Solo's will replace 2 of the MPD's.

(19 Dec 2017, 6:47 pm)Citaro5326 wrote 5232 is on loan to deptford , on 20's today

From the news:

To provide an extra vehicle in Deptford's fleet whilst members of their own fleet are being used for Route Learning associated with a network review taking place in South Tyneside in late January 2018; this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Deptford, on temporary loan.

I would imagine, after Friday, any new ones won't arrive until the new year?, not sure if Wrights have 2 weeks off from Friday, or if they open between 27th-29th December?
