Apparently Arriva have retained Whitby Park and Ride, plus won Service 99 from Coast & Country in the recent NYCC tenders.

Yes, they have been awarded a couple of NYCC school contracts too.

Out of intrest would Arriva tickets be valid beyond Sleights?

There replacing VDL Pulsars that currently operate on the 1/5/5A/12/19, and they certainly do look shorter

Had similar thoughts on seeing it.

Tried to find a photo of a Darlington example at a similar angle and found this one.

Appreciate it isn't too scientific, but fewer panels/different window set up between driver and emergency exit on the new example compared to the one in the link above.
Which gives me the impression they are smaller

Looking at photos on Flickr plus on the Wrightbus website, to me they look like the 10.8m varient of the StreetLite which can have upto 41 seats. The ones currently in the Arriva North East fleet (and GNE fleet) are 11.5m.

Yeah that's what I was looking at as well, which looks like it would lead to it losing around 4 seats?

Arriva penny pinching massively on new vehicles?  Last year's E400s were all a shorter wheelbase than the last order, now these.

The 10.8m Streetlites in Go North East's fleet have 38 seats (compared to a full-size 11.5m Streetlite Max which has 45). The Pulsars currently have 44 seats.

Wonder what the price difference between the two versions is?
4 less seats - but possibly less prone to sagging in the future.

Replacing full size single deckers with midi-buses.

If they're to the same internal seating specification as GNEs, that's outrageous.

Where will the pulsars go and what will they replace? Any major movements coming up from the Streetlites arrival?

They will be replacing mini-buses as well now that the pay gap for new starters between driving mini and conventional buses is tiny.

I’ve seen it somewhere on here that the Pulsars bar 3 and 2 MAX Pulsars are moving to different depots, heard some are going to Stockton, some to Durham and the rest to the North but only time will tell if this actually happens

Wasn’t it mentioned on here but not confirmed that some pulsars will go onto the 23 with the 23 branded streetlites going to Newcastle ?.

Yeah I believe so
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2018
They are indeed 10.8m Streetlites and will seat 41 people. Interestingly the overall capacity is higher (70) than the 11.5m ones (67).
The Pulsars will indeed be cascaded to Stockton & Durham but some other interesting cascades will happen shortly after.

On loan during Arriva Rail North railway replacement. I assume this was put on an early-finish 306 board so it could transfer beck.

If you can, define 'interesting'. You have me very intrigued...

I believe I'm aware of this bit of news. However I'm going to make you work for it. Kelly Rowland made a song about the "interesting cascades". Get on YouTube and find that song title!

As far as I'm aware this cascade is just a rumor however it is a very strong one at the moment! So much so I believe there is a list of the registration plates kicking around the depot.

(14 Jan 2018, 5:08 pm)upt50k wrote looks well but you would think Arriva would start by painting the solos and pulsars that are still running around in the original livery before any others

Double post I know but! The reason the Centros and Temsas are getting done first is because they were next in line for referb before the new livery was a concept. I dare say that had they decided when the cadets were made up to DDA compliancy they would had been the first buses in the new livery. It's just the way it's fell. I believe the Original Redcar Temsas will all get done 4703-4720 then the white front pulsars 1407,09,10,12-14,17-23,25-28
