Why has Go North East not been awarded the contract? I hoped they would keep it - polite and friendly drivers, good ticket options and service connections, nice buses to ride, free customer WiFi and Next Stop Announcements.
(09 Feb 2019, 8:22 pm)pbjd wrote Not likely since it's a Euro 6 contract.
(09 Feb 2019, 8:31 pm)OrangeArrow49 wrote Surely Arriva has Euro 6 compliant buses? What are your thoughts? The service has always been Stagecoach and has been Arriva, Go North East or both for evenings/Sundays. I can't see anyone else winning the contract. Are Stagecoach buses Euro 6? I don't even know if Stagecoach actually bids for the evenings/Sundays 32A.
(09 Feb 2019, 8:40 pm)pbjd wrote The MMCs at Ashington might be. Most likely GCT won it.

Edit: Just noticed its near the new depot but my question remains.
(11 Feb 2019, 8:10 pm)S813 FVK wrote Yeah I think a key purpose of it will be to act as a depot shuttle. Perhaps replacing the Templetown section on the V1?
(11 Feb 2019, 8:11 pm)Michael wrote V1 is still down to be going to Templetown according to VOSA from 7th April:
PB0003954/720 Registered
GO NORTH EAST LIMITED
Route: Templetown, Knitsley Lane to Delves, Castledene Road
Service number: V1 (V2)
Service type: Normal Stopping
Effective date: 07 Apr 2019
(11 Feb 2019, 8:25 pm)S813 FVK wrote I had noticed that, but I just can't see how 5 buses an hour (V1 every hour and V11 every 15 minutes) to that area is feasible as a public service.
Granted, running buses between the bus station and the depot in service when they would be going down there anyway gives them a chance to generate extra revenue, but still odd nevertheless.

6 will interwork with X31 at Stanley rather than at present.
6A will interwork with the M6 at Stanley on Sunday.
15A will interwork with 16A in Durham on Sundays (16A still interworks with X30 at Stanley, drivers will do full 15A/16A/X30/16A/15A) using Diamond Streetlites, as such the current 15A/46 interworking pattern will cease.
30/30A Service 30 will continue on current route via Quaking Houses every hour, 30A will omit Quaking Houses again every 30 Mins.
X31 Route in Newcastle changed, from Gateshead route as is now onto John Dobson Street, Blackett Street will be omitted with services additionally stopping on St Marys Place. No change to outward route.
45/46/47 Timing changes, late buses retimed by 5 mins later. 47 will continue to interwork with X71 on Sundays using Streetlites, Volvo B9 operated runs will stand alone with changeovers as now at River View.
M6 will extend to Quaking Houses to replace service 30 (hourly).
V11 every 15 mins between Hownsgill (depot) and Bus Station, no other timing points on running board.
X70/X71 as with service X31 will operate via St Marys place and observe a new stop.
