Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - October 2020

(14 Oct 2020, 8:25 pm)Cobalt271 wrote I wouldn't particularly call that an odd working because it seems anything goes with Jesmond. I've seen all sorts allocated to that board over the past 4 weeks.
Not seen a medibus on it since last year when 2603 had a turn. But haven't seen it alot only tend to get it once every week or 2.
RE: Odd workings
Spotted Arriva Yorkshire 1613 (YJ06 WWZ), an East Lancs Lowlander decker, leaving Jesmond depot this afternoon. Looked to be heading out on a scholars duplicate service ??
RE: Odd workings
1759 has spent the day on its usual home of 62s but on the all night board which works onto 63/64a at 1832 (64a from Middlesbrough) and also works the last X4a from Middlesbrough to Easington tonight.
2863 has spent the day on X4

Due to staffing issues, Stockton are currently covering an X12 board for Durham and as such, Redcar are assisting Stockton by covering Stockton work - 4719 spent the day on 9s yesterday and is today working 5As

I saw 4719 nis on the Parkway last night and couldn't work out why it was there, at that particular time.
Now we know.

Go North East operate 2 coaches in the am/pm peak periods duplicating the Arriva service.  Has been like this since schools went back at begining of September 2020.  There used to be 3 but one was dropped at begining of October 2020.

Was 7135. As said above this post it's an allocated scholars duplicate. Arriva don't have the supplies to operate dupes on all major school services at Blyth (1, 2, 308, X7, X11) so arriva are doing the X7 & X11 at Blyth with the doing the 1, 2 & 308.

7631 is on the 1 today. A quick look at bustimes.org tells me it replaced 2801 which lasted a round trip to Wansbeck Hospital on the 06:35 off Blyth and back on the return before braking on approach to or at Blyth Bus Station.

Looks like there's been similar problems on the 57/57A with 2813 but instead but that's decided it wasn't going into North Tyneside and broke down at Annitsford - https://bustimes.org/vehicles/191629#journeys/91921366, replaced by 7543 (bit of luxury on there tonight) from the same point but going the opposite way so guessing it never ran to Whitley and back. No doubt a full size bus for the next few days (again) since 2809 seems to be already off the road.

Seems that reliability of the medibuses in Northumberland has down down recently as there's frequently full size buses on the 1, 2 & 57/57A and the occasional decker as I can say now this isn't the first time a decker hasn't been on the 1/2 in the last week as 7616 was on the 2 on Friday and there's been a lot of pulsars on since the end of lockdown 1.

7616 on Friday:
RE: Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - October 2020
Arriva Northumbria Routes 57/57A has received a lot of odd and very rare allocations over the last week covering various breakdowns
Tuesday 8th December: 7533 covering for 1800 which broke down while operating service 57
Wednesday 9th December: 7543 on evening 57A covering for 2813 which broke down while on 57A
Thursday 10th December: 1580 allocated all day on 57/57A in place of a solo
Friday 11th December : 1579 allocated all day on 57/57A in place of 2809 releasing 2813 to cover 1801. Later that day 2813 got replaced by 7553 for unknown reasons
Sunday 13th December: 1580 was allocated mid journey in place of 2813
Today 7510 was allocated in place of 2813 but 7510 had broke down meaning 7541 replaced it on 57/57A
