Would look better if x5/x15 were put back into normal service as a 15/15A, and not in xlines brand, GNE went to over board on the xlines brand all in one area

6057 and 6062 now at Consett.

(14 Sep 2021, 1:21 pm)Storx wrote A third spare at Consett I guess, the fact they removed the low bridge on the 78 suggests that they're going to end up on there at times.

Guessing the Streetdecks will be going to Chester Le Street for the 21 / 25 since there's no other deckers for it and The Angel has no spares atm.
Still lots of buses to move around I'm led to believe.

Be interested if the rest did go to Percy Main.
Just as a theory (how many of the StreetLite are left)
Would the amount left of Black Cats take over the PVR for the Little Coasters solos (11,19,41,41A,42,42A)

Just a theory btw

Bus availablity at Deptford is bad atm. There has been Plaxton Presidents operating. 6943  I think.

So where are 6301-6307 going? Washington?, Wonder what people are going to think about the downgrade for the 47...

Is it really that much of a downgrade?

Buses are of an almost identical spec (WiFi, USB, next stop, high back seats). The only thing that is different is the fact the floors are blue and they don’t have tables…

Imo B9s are better than streetdecks.

Anyone know if 8339-8346 will get their seats re-trimmed with USB's & Wifi?

Also I think the 'Peterlee Purples' & 'Drifter' should also get USB's. As USB or USB C(which they should start to change around now really) should really be standard on all buses which was under 10 years old. Aslong as a large parts of there network has routes over 30 mins.

Will the X5/X15 be getting a temporary downgrade (until bid is confirmed as won) or will they get different StreetDecks?

They already have WiFi fitted.

Tbh, if they removed the tables from the X21, that would probably be the thing that pushed me over the edge into getting a car.

The main advantage for me getting the bus is that I can work while on the go. And, given the pathetic excuse for legroom, I find it difficult to sit straight in the seat never mind use a laptop as well.

I can't ever imagine working on a public service bus. Train at a stretch but with all the GDPR and lack of secure wifi (unless you use your own) it's just not appealing to me. I use the commute to wind down, stick my music or podcast on and get focused.

Would be quite wary about having a £4k laptop out on public transport too
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

I always tether because the 100mb daily limit lasts about 2 minutes!

I always sit backwards, so unless someone turns around that isn't usually a problem, and, if possible I sit at the table behind the stairs so there's nobody behind.

I actually bought a a £400 laptop just to use on the go, but I personally have no issue using my £2,000+ gaming laptop on the bus

I was on about downgrades...I do feel sorry for you, the little coasters can't get downgraded anymore.
RE: Fleet Changes
I still blame the downgrade of 2019 for the downfall of the little coasters,it went from 13 year old darts,to brand new solos, which says to me that they were making money to warrant an upgrade, they then got swapped for the 11 year old tat from Sunderland, then what happens?,less than 12 months later the whole little coasters network was sliced and axed, theres no way that is a coincidence

Yeah, I mean I agree they have had so many repaints, IndiGo, Black Cats, XLINES, Grahite.
Little Coasters are quite forgotton about and the 19 has lost the LittleCoaster branding.

I have to agree. The Little Coasters buses have had a massive downgrade. I mean they went from having NSA when they were IndiGo to not having it anymore
What buses would improve them. Maybe short E200MMC

I don't think Short E200 MMC, I think if they were going to buy any the E200's would go onto another service to displace that set of Solos to go on the Little Coasters

The Stagecoach 22 extension to Cobalt killed the network like. However instead of trying to fight they sent the newer buses elsewhere and it's been going downhill ever since.

The only thing keeping Go North East running in North Tyneside is the 309/310/311 & 1. Without them 4 service. Go North East in NT is nothing but a blip on the radar

You could push it and say the NT network is mostly due to these (open to opinion)

The 19 is there any point in it going any further than Northumberland Park to Ashington

42A is there any point sending it any further than Dinnington or Four Lane Ends

42 is there any point in sending further than from Killingworth to Cramlington

Didn't Percy Main used to be a massive depot?
