(28 Jan 2014, 2:55 pm)aureolin wrote I'd have expected it to go back to manufacturer if it's getting quite a bit of engine work done, being only 3 month old at best. I wonder where the other one is. There's been at least 2 VOR as of late

The vehicle is 8340, it has gone there at Cummins request. The other vehicle 8343 is awaiting Wrights.

And Venture, Connections 4 and Cobalt Clipper!
RE: Go North East - Latest
Don't suppose anyone knows where else they're promoting the Clippers this week?

Wednesday - Market Place, Blyth.
Thursday - ???
Friday - Northumberland Street, Newcastle.
Saturday - ???

Also had a thought from a post in the Stagecoach thread, about them running an open doors day for the new gas buses. I'm surprised GNE aren't doing something similar to them, having seen the shots on the SCC thread of all the various new vehicles parked up in the new depot. I realise it won't appeal to everyone, but certainly the enthusiast community and bairns.

A old women stood at bus stop today waiting for 26 the 29 pulled up went off she went to me the bus is late so I said the 29 is the 26 bless she only had to wait another 20 mins, so does that mean when river side opens the sunderland rd drivers will be doing winlaton routes and wintlon could be doing some sunderland rds

Some of the rotas will change, so you will see some present Gateshead drivers on routes presently operated by Winlaton and vice versa, yes.

Had the timetables not been updated at the stop? A wise man once told me that "timetables are the responsibility of Nexus".

Big Grin

Indeed, though with a change you'd think the drivers might be asked to show some common sense/service and ask if anyone is waiting on the 26

Yeah it would be nice if they did do that, especially in areas where it's the only bus service you'd thing some if the drivers would have a bit common sense. I think displays boards on the buses could display changes, Solars/Versas/new vehicles have display screens (for next stop and/or CCTV) maybe they should feature 'Sunderland Bus Changes' with some passengers bound to notice and say 'Betty the 26 is getting replaced' etc.

But the buses have had the Sunderland bus briefing on them for a number of weeks, the timetables (have most likely) been updated at the stops, and the destination display on the front of the vehicle lists both the destination and a scrolling list of points. Stopping to explain to someone at each stop isn't practical. If anything it will annoy your customers already on the bus, who will think the driver is taking the piss stopping at each stop by chance.

But if you told Go North East that they would quite easily say 'the changes have been posted for plenty of time for people to see them so its not our problem'
