As I understand, from one source (who also mentioned Hartlepool gaining some of the 65 plate E200s), one of those additional vehicles should be an additional decker to enable a 13 board to move to double decker operation for capacity reasons at school times.

Stockton are due to receive 19678 from Byker for the 13.

19678 has transferred to Stockton due to an increased need for deckers at the depot (a board on the 13 on schooldays requires a decker now - plus Stockton were due additional vehicles for the X40/X41 and RP1 so that kills two birds with one decker). The vehicles that went to Cheltenham are now back - they were only on-loan for a week while the Cheltenham Festival was on. Stockton also have a vehicle on-loan to Manchester don't forget.

Since it appears the RP1 and X40/X41 are also being allocated MMCs, I think it's about time that they had their route branding removed.

Just looking at those routes on a map, why does Houchen and his routes have to be so confusing for no reason at all. There's absolutely no benefit of the X41 and X42 doing opposite routes around Wynyard, they're two completely different routes so is just causing confusion for no reason at all.
Also surely the timetables should be done so they're every 30 minutes at the Wynyard side rather than Stockton, since anyone with half a brain cell isn't going to sit on a detour via Billingham for no reason, infact I don't understand why that service goes to Stockton at all from Billingham - it's just duplicating a commercial service...

X40 is limited stop between Stockton High Street and Billingham Town Centre, only stopping at Norton Red Lion, Billingham Stores and Billingham Station between the two.
