Looks like the buses are going through Farringdon - missing out the stops from the Board Inn  to Thorney Close North Moor - https://bustimes.org/vehicles/gnel-5434#.../658169535

Only affects buses towards the city centre. Well, for SC anyway.

Part of Chester Road is closed due to a burst water main (same place as before).

Stockton Road has roadworks on it now.

It clearly says on the bus stop on Stockton Road - the stop is out of use... yet people are still standing at it and expecting the bus to stop....

Re Chester Road, note Stagecoach and GNE are doing different diversions. Stagecoach via Hylton Road and St Mark's Road, GNE via Durham Road and Ormonde Street.

Both are due to burst water mains I believe, Stockton Road nearly collapsed on Sunday from what I heard.

That doesn't surprise me with Stockton Road, that pothole was getting bigger and bigger every day, it was impossible to miss it before they started the works. Northumbrian Water were messing about with it a few nights before, but didn't seem in a rush to get the road works in place.

Apparently on Saturday a car nearly bottomed out on it and there were bits of tarmac all over. The hole they dug soon filled with water.

The one further up on the corner needs doing too.

Jesus, that's not good, something serious could of happened.

Sunderland council should be monitoring busy roads, but clearly aren't.

Just passed the hole on Stockton Road and the water is still coming out of the hole....

Might be a long term set of temp traffic lights.

Amber weather warning tomorrow so could see some disruption to the metro and buses

Shields Ferry is suspended with a half hourly replacement bus service will be running between the two landings via Tyne Tunnel. The buses will be running from 6.30am until 11pm.

No trains beyond Newcastle to Scotland after 11am too.

I could be mis-remembering this but I do recall during weather like this that the X10 in the past was always swapped out to single deck vehicles in the past

I'm not sure if its a lack of suitable single decks or improved safety on newer stock that this doesn't seem to happen anymore

I think you're right, I'm surprised they aren't singles today... then again...... have they got enough buses for that?

Arriva's 306, 308 and X15 are all fully single operated today, assuming because of the exposed coastal areas, so assume it's not the case.

Aye, it was definitely a thing.
Mind, it may have been when the X9 operated.

Squashing everyone on a E200 or running the risk of it tippling over.
They're probably gonna choose the latter.

So I've read the most current post about the gne problems. They have gone from blaming the cold weather to

Blaming the Slat & Grit on the road

It just gets absolutely worse day in day out
