RE: Redcar depot
(23 Jan 2025, 9:02 pm)Ryland wrote Ok so they're transferring to stockton. So what's going to Redcar then?

Evora's. These were diverted from the Liverpool order to effectively displace the X4 Streetlite's down instead.

Seems they're just sending up the Pulsar's early so Merseyside can get their Streetlite's earlier.

Not ideal for Stockton mind who are getting a downgrade from it all, especially considering how elderly the fleet is there already. Debate on whether a 5 year old Pulsar is better than a Streetlite mind.

Originally it was mentioned that the 09 Plate Pulsar's were meant to be moving from Redcar instead but seems plans have changed.

Seems it's changed  no moments from Redcar to Stockton   now

I'd imagine they'll all be in service until then now. Don't think anything else is planned to leave Liverpool until their Evora's turn up now though - they're due some aswell. I could be wrong there though as plans seem to change quite a bit but that's what has been said quite recently.

Stockton actually benefit from taking the Merseyside Pulsars compared to taking their original ones back from Redcar - the  Merseyside ones have been modified to Euro6 standard so increases the number of vehicles that can be used on the Newcastle X12 turns by 10 (while the StreetLites are CAZ compliant, they are now rarely used on there except for emergencies).

The 8 could be reduce as yesterday 3 were leaving Middlesbrough together  personally it's way to frequent and never full  wouldn't it make sense putting streetlites on the 8 1550 57

Yeah had a feeling that might have been the reason why. It'll be interesting to see what the plans are for Stockton as the fleet is getting on there as an understatement and it's not as if the routes are poor routes especially considering there's nothing ordered and nothing planned for the place either, as far as I'm aware.

Why would you reduce the service 8? It’s clearly busy enough to justify its frequency! Streetlites generally do get shoved on local routes not many go far out of town now! Of course with some departing this weekend then you’ll see less of them.
