Especially when only once an hour on an evening. Not good if on section of route with no alternative 23/E1 or E2 available as an alternative

Yeah agreed, heard a few mention the 24 walking by so guess they went for that instead.

Seems a bit of a mad route to take to get to Sunderland

Was wondering why there was a 11 bus to Kenton going through the tunnel coming back from the match last night. That answers it.

A1 would be shut for roadworks

Bit of a weird time of the day to do it too. But seems the transfers between depots is now underway.

26280 expected to transfer to Slatyford tomorrow with 27239 coming the other way (short term til yutongs enter service)

I did not expect the 27***’s to be heading back to Stockton. Going to assume they’ll all be going back to send all the 262’s up here?

As far as we’re aware 27239 won’t be here long! Just til the electrics enter service then they’ll move onwards! Apparently there may be a couple of moves over the next 2 weeks between MMC’s and 272’s

Well I know stagecoach want the 272’s out of Newcastle as that’s only Euro 5 engined do we know how long before we can expect all of the 262’s in Newcastle?

Surely it would make sense to swap all the 272’s for the MMC’s have Stockton use them until the full fleet arrives and the current ones entering service now that were originally due for Slatyford would replace the likes of 22341/413 22570 etc

Guess it depends what they want out what goes first though. The gas buses at Sunderland are probably higher priority (assume it's where these will end up in the end).

Yeah I believe the 271** and the 272**’s will be used to replace the gas buses. It depends on how much longer they have left in them. From what I’ve heard from drivers at Slatyford that have been there for a long time is we’re getting all the 262**’s from Stockton and all our 27***’s are going very soon so have to wait and see.

Aye haven't Reading bought some of the gas buses? Or has that fell through now. I've lost track with Stagecoach movements feels like at times they're just going on a whim.

Last I heard they had but not sure anymore. Maybe Stagecoach can’t give them to them yet as they don’t have enough buses or replacements for them?

Noted 37307 working yesterday (Sat) for Slatyford. Not sure if transfer or short-term loan.

It should be a loan I’d imagine. We’re losing the 35 next month, we’re not going to need as many E200’s as we’ve got now.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Go live date for the first 18 electrics at Stockton is Monday 24th February with all 262’s transferring to Slatyford from that day. 27506/7/9/10 are expected to be the first casualties of the older stock - plans however don’t always go to plan!

Least Stocktons are all going to in to service... Sunderlands have been here a while and still all of them haven't entered service as full batch.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

272’s going back to Stockton mate to run along side the 271’s and the yutongs until the rest arrive? Would make sense imo allow all the old buses to go.

Apparently 6 X 262’s are to go up over this week with 272’s coming the other way to apparently speed up the withdrawal of older stock - again plans can change

Cheers mate, if you hear anything else stick it on here, interested to see what’s going to what depot and what buses Stockton are going to withdraw.

27239 is on a 36 board - one that starts with half a 12 then a round trip on the 39 first.

27729-34 at Sunderland I'd guess?

I don't know but I have a feeling a lot of the original North East plans have gone out the window because of the Stagecoach Stockport fiasco and it's electric vehicles, https://www.route-one.net/news/stockport...ifficulty/ - this for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't have been surprised if some of the MMC's in Manchester would've been up here otherwise seeing out the rest of E400's and sorting out the lack of Deckers at both Newcastle depots tbh.

Just a thought but what do we think the chances are 27252/253/254 from Walkergate go to Stockton and swap with 19678 19680 19681?

Tbf id like to see some more mmc’s Manchester come up replace some of the older deckers but looking at that article that probably won’t happen till 2028 now but by then there’d probably be many more brand new buses around the country
