27181 had been MOT prep according to the fitter at Slatyford, no changes happened last night as 26281 is due it’s 6 month major service and engineering where unable to get it off the road to do it , expected to swap tonight

Cheers mate! Was wondering if they might wait till Monday to do it. 27180 is due back in the depot about 6pm tonight and I think 26281 is about the same at Stockton

Not sure if it’s came up tonight couldn’t see it in the depot when I finished my late shift tonight.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
27180 and 26281 still haven’t swapped yet so not sure what’s going on there.
27735 and 27254 have swapped between Slatyford and Walkergate. I wonder if 27254 even though it was rumoured to go to Sunderland could head to Stockton for 26289?

It seems 27180 has gone to Stockton and 26289 has came to Slatyford so I think 27254 will be going to Stockton for 26281. Have to wait and see what happens

Any comments?
Is this a pre-emptive move as the service is largely outside of NECA and thus residents are concerned about what might happen?
Is there a capacity issue at school times?
To which part of Stagecoach would 685 service issues, as per the article, be addressed? North East or Cumbria or both?

A public meeting has focused on improving a town's bus service
Residents of Haltwhistle gathered at the library's Community Hub on Friday, March 14 to discuss the future of the 685 bus service.
The meeting was organised as a follow-up to a public transport consultation held on January 17.
Councillor Martin Gannon, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Transport of the North East Combined Authority (NECA), attended in an official capacity.
The event was hosted by Rachel Mathieson, Labour candidate for the upcoming council elections.
Cllr Gannon highlighted that the 685 bus service is currently a private enterprise, limiting NECA's influence.
However, he noted that this would change in the coming years as the Mayor, Kim McGuinness, and NECA are set to take some control over bus services.
The meeting concluded with the decision to establish a Public Transport Action Group.
The group aims to 'maintain momentum' and exert pressure on Stagecoach and Northumberland County Council for immediate changes.
These changes include real-time bus arrival times at stops, an easier payment system, a review of the 685 service timetable, and ensuring enough capacity for schoolchildren during peak hours.
Rachel Mathieson will lead the Public Transport Action Group, and will organise a follow-up meeting with representatives from Stagecoach and Northumberland County Council.

27729 is now at Slatyford does anyone know anything about the E200MMC’s were due to get from other depots to replace the 277’s we’ve got on loan from Sunderland?

Surely they'll be the buses, can't see why they'd go back to Sunderland? They've been displaced by the electrics.

Were the Yutongs not to displace some of the gas buses or have they changed the plans? It makes sense to leave them at Slatyford but at this point with the amount of buses moving around who knows.
They’ve still got 27728 and 27738 whenever that re-enters service.
27727/29/30/36/37 are at Slatyford but I’m sure once 24115 comes back out, 26068 potentially 19386/19388 there wouldn’t be a need for them? And with us losing the 35 very soon we’re going to have too many buses.

Not too sure, I've always assumed, and admit there's nothing to back this up, that the 64/65 Plates from Stockton will eventually end up at Sunderland. Noticed that Walkergate swapped 5 of them for the 11 Plates, in recent weeks, which would hint that's where they're going. It would also kind of make sense aswell since it's an upgrade even known it's only a year or so over the gas buses which are going. Seems the Yutongs have knocked out the 11 Plates and bizarrely some E200's, with the remaining there all over the shop, so who knows tbh.
Can't see who else would want them since Hartlepool is a no go, both the Newcastle depots have the Euro 6 issues and I'm not sure South Shields needs anything bar the Darts but unsure a full size saloon is the answer for them either.

For some reason one of the buses that Sunderland’s 277’s replaced is 27254 and that is at Slatyford. Not sure why or for how long. Stocktons 26281 is still to come up. Apparently 19385 and 19389 are heading from Slatyford to Walkergate soon to replace the last 2 hybrids so not sure what we’ll get for them.

Aye it's definitely confusing picking out what's going where to be honest. Don't think there will be a replacement for them though will there? I'd assume the MMC's from Manchester might be the replacement, don't think 8 vehicles ever left from them and they were always meant to be up here for the Hybrids to go.

We got 8 from Manchester yes but it went like
10467-19430
10484-19431
10485-19432
10486-19433
10535-19434
10578-19435
10579-19436
10580-19679
And they had 8 hybrids to replace 12071/80/81/82/83/84/85/86 so I’m confused as to how they’re needing 19385 and 19389 for them as well. So I can only imagine Slatyford will receive something else, maybe the E200mmc’s that have been mentioned by people in the depot from other depots in the country.

Yeah that's fair then, I missed 19432 since it's been long time VOR and 19679 so got my numbers mixed up. Agreed actually surprised they need more. Who knows tbh, could guess for days as sometimes it feels like even Stagecoach don't have an idea and are just plucking up on the day.
The bizarre random bus from here and there turning up at Sunderland just adds fuel on the fire for it.
I assume buses from Manchester were meant to come up here but the disaster at Stockport has just messed everything up and it's just a desperate scramble to sort out other areas tbh. It's what it seems like anyway.

I mean even if they don’t fit over the pits at Hartlepool they could very easily sort that out as they is plenty of space to build a new engineering area and Stockton could continue to do any work that would need a pit anyway so they are Solutions to the whole pit issue.

There are 3 25 plate Yutongs at Slatyford. No fleet numbers but are registered NL25 FFG, NL25 FFD & NL25 FGN. I’m going to assume these are Stocktons but being stored at Slatyford?

27249s been on 36s for 2 days staight! Hopefully we will see 246 on it this weekend!
Wonder what the idea is for the dots liveries moving forward as they outlived the Local livery of 2020 upto 2025 with the newest Midnight blue livery.
Maybe just maybe they might get preserved ? but that's speculation!
Would be an interesting sight to see at least 2 e300s in the old Zone livery and Connecting the dots at the metrocentre rallies or afar in years to come!.

Who knows tbh, hard to say either way. Possibly maybe they might send E200's down from elsewhere instead? Lot's of ways you could release some if you wanted. The fact the 10, 11 and 23 have a lot of E300 boards, in Sunderland, lately would suggest the E200's aren't staying at Sunderland - but who knows. Even the 8 had a gas bus on today.
