What date would be considered too late for SNE to come up with alternatives for segments of the Sunderland 18 route?

I think VOSA need 6 weeks notice for changes although I could be completely wrong.

Stagecoach could of already sent more changes to them but they just aren't on the website yet.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes
With the 3 and 4 becoming end to end, then technically they could of canned the 18 aswell and replaced it with either/or then possibly extend the 12 to cover Biddick Hall?
Kind Regards

In fairness, you'd probably want to keep it. A bus every 7.5 minutes along Stanhope Road is probably deserved. Looking at timetables the 3 and 17 seem to pretty follow each other right now so it's pointless in a way since they go to same place pretty much, ignoring the issues with Laygate.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes
So there is no east bound services to shields town centre from nevison Avenue as far as the nook. Could have routed the 4 back up that way in a reverse of its route then the 3 as per its new route covering the part of cancelled 17. Or maybe extend a few trips of the x34 to end in town centre

If it's where I think it is, it'll be still covered by the 4 but it'll terminate at Biddick Hall and not go beyond there to West Park etc.

I’m so confused by this. So it will terminate at biddick hall then not run back to shields, sure someone could draw us a map

If I've read it right by the post earlier, it's going to be something like this:

Not terminate as such.

The 3 will operate as it is from Shields to Whiteleas Bridge via Biddick Hall then go arpund Whiteleas same as 17.   It will then go straight to Shields via the current 4 route down Boldon Lane and Stanhope Rd.

The 4 will operate as it is from Shields to Biddick Hall but then return via same route via Ridgeway, Nook and Westoe

Nevinson from top end by (what was) King George School and Holder House will lose its links to Boldon Lane etc.

Unless you wait whole week to get the Sunday only GNE 25a which covers it.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes
I see so it’s as I had originally suggested about the 4 returning the way it came between nevison Avenue and town centre. Many thanks for clarifying it for me
RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes
Service Numbers will confuse some people, The current 3 goes from Biddick to the Nook, so for example, people will for the first few days automatically board the 3 to travel to the Nook

Agreed there probably better to number them the 9 and 19 tbh imo. The 19 doing the 3 side since it'll be combined with the 18 every 7.5 minutes and the 9 because it's free pretty much and serves similar areas to the 7/8/10/11

Or 5 and 6
But when to bus numbers ever make sense in my head I'd do this
1/2
3/4
5/6 (were 10/11)
7/8
9 (was 516)
10 (does the 3 side)
11 (was 18)
12

I don't know why the 10 can't be the 10 on return journey, instead of 11 this is no longer a circular service ( long before Jarrow and North Shields and now Jarrow again) after all the 18 isn't the 19 on return from Brockley Whins.

They do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road. So both services use that stop. And it would be confusing to people have the number 10 to Jarrow have the 10 to South Shields as well. It's easier and I like it that way

When the Northern ( Go North East) used to operate service 522 they used the same estates, Low Simonside and Hill Park and service 538 around Whiteleas and it worked fine for years ,same service number in both directions.

Thats a good point tbf, didn't it stop being a circular when they merged it with the 13/14

So it has to stay the 10/11 just because you like it that way, what a shite argument "they do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road", okay so what about the 40/41 when that ran round Hadrian Park, or what about when Wallsend had 2 40's literally a bus stop apart, there's probably loads of other examples

Dalton Park, Witherwack and Gilley Law are three places I can think of where buses serve the same stop in both directions.
