It could have worked at any stage over the last however many years.

Yet there's been no evidence of either operator sitting down and agreeing a plan of action.

Yet another example of the failure of de-reg.

That's true mind, whatever they do they really need to sort the timetable out though as (using New Seaham Mt. Pleasant):

22: 21/51
60: 23/38/53/08
61: 21/51

Is just ridiculous timetabling and benefits no-one imo. Must admit I never see the 61, but I can't see why anyone from Dalton Park onwards would use it, at all, as it's longer and runs at the same time as quicker services.

Curiously had a look at other services and the 65/X6, 65/71 and 61/X1 all running near on top of each other is pretty special aswell. Quite impressed how they've managed every route to be doubling on top of each other when none of them interwork.

It always used to be the case if the 61 and 22 pulled into Dalton Park at the same time, the 22 would leave empty with everyone queueing for the 61. I pulled into Dalton Park yesterday after 5pm heading to Pennywell with a Sunderland bound 22, everyone let me pull to the front and queued for the 22 behind me.
