Go North East: Service Suggestions v2

Go North East: Service Suggestions v2

(4 hours ago)Storx wrote Guessing it was a typo with the Seghill - Seaton Delaval - Backworth, impossible that unless you ran it along the back road by Fenwick Pit but that wouldn't be fun.

Btw if you want to create the links there for the 344, you'd be better just extending the 57/57A back to North Shields like it did for years (the 57A Sunday boards is pretty much the route bar it ran the 306 route from Billy Mill to North Shields).

I can't comment on most of North Tyneside but the main missing links in Seaton Valley which people moan about are, probably in priority:

Seaton Delaval / Seghill / New Hartley to Killingworth
New Hartley to Cramlington
Seaton Delaval / Seghill to NT Hospital

I believe Marsden / Tynemouth to NT Hospital is quite a big one though since every bus in the area duplicates the Metro pretty much.

The problem with your 19/20 idea is that i assume it will take about 90 mins end-to-end. Whereas my 344 takes 53 mins. If you wanted tynemouth serving just add a 345 aswell (That was in my draft idea though it ran via beach road & the broadway).

(3 hours ago)Storx wrote Not going to lie, I'd be tempted to go further and mix up the 19, 58, 335, 342 and 353 (partnership) and do something like:

318: Wallsend - East Hartford via Forest Hall, Killingworth, Dudley
319: Wallsend - Cramlington via Benton ASDA, Killingworth, Seghill, Seaton Delaval and Northumbria Hospital
358: North Shields - Cramlington via Cobalt, Shiremoor, Seaton Delaval, New Hartley and Northumbria Hospital
359: North Shields - Kingston Park via Cobalt, Killingworth, Seaton Burn, Hazelrigg
335: Killingworth - Hadrian Park via Quorum, Longbenton, Forest Hall, Benton ASDA
353: Curtailed Short Killingworth - North Shields

It creates some faster links for communities for where people want to people and removes all the ridiculous doubling back at Benton ASDA which is annoying for everyone.

Other than Seghill to Northumberland Park / Cobalt (but they gain Killingworth) there's not really any lost links but it does open up a lot of important links like:
  • Forest Hall to Quorum
  • Wallsend to Cramlington
  • Lots of places to Northumbria Hospital
  • East Hartford to anywhere
  • Cobalt to the Seaton Burn area
  • New Hartley to Cramlington
  • Seaton Delaval / Seghill to Killingworth and Wallsend

I'd imagine it'd be quite popular for most areas, can't really see major negatives personally. Other than the 353, they're all subsidised anyway so easily doable.
i'm going to add a crazy one in here, what if the 309 became a 15 minute loop and was merged with 355.
