Riverside Depot featuring in BBC 'Night Force'

Riverside Depot featuring in BBC 'Night Force'

RE: Riverside Depot featuring in BBC 'Night Force'
I had no idea where to put this, but certainly didn't want to create a new thread.
Mods: if there's anywhere more suitable, feel free to move.

Riverside depot + staff cars on Mandela Way / buses coming to and from the depot = accident waiting to happen.

Has anyone else experienced issues around the depot/Mandela Way/Handy Drive?

Issues all the time, we are constantly told not to park outside the depot as part of the planning permission for the depot was that no cars were to park outside on the main road.

There's been lots of staff notices telling us not to park outside on the main road but its ignored.

There was a incident a few weeks back where a driver leaving the depot in his car had a accident

It may just be me, but it seems to be getting worse.

Hopefully something is done about it soon and it has more of an impact than just a staff notice.

Has got a lot worse over the past few months, simple thing to do would be to double yellow line the whole road and ticket every single one. That would stop it straight away.

We have a agreement with the Metrocentre for drivers to use the coach park.

I drove around there the other day coming out of Costco it is bad the parking like but I can’t blame drivers for wanting to park close to the depot. Is there not a proper car park inside the depot grounds or an overflow car park? Weird to expect drivers to park at metrocentre coach/staff car park and walk along

It was fine until the expansion with the inclusion of Nat Ex and Chester depot services, as well as the closure of Bensham. That's been the difference.

Everybody that worked at Bensham should be using thier own services anyway!

I nearly got knocked over a few weeks back whilst crossing the road outside of the depot after taking some photos of 6388 doing some driver familiarisation runs by a white ford fiesta that came tearing along the road after turning right onto Mandela to go around to Costco.

I had seen the car indicating as I went to cross the road after looking both ways but didn't expect the driver to come along as fast as they did, they wouldn't have been able to see me either to due the line of parked cars blocking the view of the pavement.

If only all those TeamGNE workers could get a bus to and from work!

Imagine, being able to see the depot from your bedroom window, but not being able to get there by bus....

I'm imagining...

Surprised it can be seen amongst all the parked cars tbh.
