It’s almost to PMs disadvantage they have a clearly skilled and effective engineering team. They’d probably even keep the Streetdecks on the road!
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

I feel both Deptford and PM get the worst of the fleet unfortunately. Like I've said previously ( sound like a broken record) I absolutely do not think the X1 streetdecks are an upgrade on the current 56 vehicles which are a better build altogether already showing 6370 didn't last long this morning and 6365 not out

4 of those on the X5/X15 ....

No more Solos or Lothians ......

One can only dream.
RE: Vehicle Cascade 2026
To be fair, Deptford still have all of their CityRiders running, so it's not like they desperately need the buses, I'm sure stuff is just getting passed about where it's needed until all the new buses are in service.

Yes , this is destined for Sunderland 6362-6375 (Eventually) but Consett are short apparently.

Short on Euro 6 spares as they cannot use Ex Lothian and Ex First Manchester/GNW B9's on Services which operate into Newcastle as they will be charged.

Would explain a lot as to why the Durham Diamond E400's often escape doing the 16's, things will settle down once the new Ultroliners/Electroliners all enter service and cascades have occurred.

No doubt the Cityrider Gemini's will end up on the X5/X15 and 16/16A with 2x spare which can also be used on the X45/47 if needed.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the X21 though with 2x needed for Deptford. Something telling me will be 6352-55 with some E400MMC additionally moving from Consett - in return for some X30/X70 boards going single deck with the current X66 E200MMCs.

Then for the 6x X21 StreetDecks, they do the X45/47 on the basis they get parked up on a Sunday.

Forgive me here but why should the consett E400 mmc's  move over to riverside.from my understanding consett are in need of euro 6 buses for their runs.  You have this enormously very large obsession with taking them from consett.dont the people of derwentside deserve comfortable buses

E400s are staying at Consett, along side ( eventually) the X10s (Vehicle not Service)

But what will be used on the X21 though? 6x StreetDecks is not enough and IMO - will be a disgrace if GNE use ex-London B9TLs or any non NL63xxx B9TLs which have been run ragged on various routes.

I'd imagine it'll be the 6 Daimler ones being used on it currently, plus the 2 new ones (there's 6 at Riverside I'm sure).

I don't know for certain but I still think that the ones on the X45 were meant to be on the X21 and the 6 likely remaining on the X21 were meant to be on the X45.

No doubt been swapped around to shut up local stakeholders.

Ones at Consett seem to be split between 47/X45 with no confirmation which service they're actually meant to be allocated to.

There is only 4 at Riverside which are 6397-6400 that are being allocated here, there and everywhere at the moment.

It would make sense at this point to put them on the X10 with 6377 as a spare, then have 6348-6355 on the X21.

I could be wrong here but wasn't there 25 coming? I'd assume there's a 6401/2 around somewhere otherwise it's just 23 buses?

ie:
6378 - 6383 (Consett)
6384 - 6396 (Washington)
6397 - 6402? (Riverside)

Obviously things might have changed though.

I've not seen anything of a 6401/02 yet unless they're delayed at Wrightbus which I am doubtful of given their currently now in the process of finishing off/delivering East Yorkshires order and in the last few days examples for Go South Coast have started to appear.
RE: Vehicle Cascade 2026
(8 hours ago)ouston man wrote Is 6380/81 at consett. If so where are they?

Should be but have not entered service yet.

6384/6389/6390/6393/6394 and 6395 are also among those yet to appear at Washington.

A lot of the vehicles have came with wing mirrors attached despite being spec'd for camera mirrors which there is a shortage of within the supply chain and will need to be retrofitted to the vehicles once they become available.

Yeah who knows, might come with the singles but agreed don't really see why they'd be delayed tbh

The only thing there is that there'd be no spare low bridge deckers for the X30/X70 boards unless some surplus E200MMC were put on the quieter boards.

However, if GNE did the following longer term:

- X32 re-routed to serve Shield Row and interwork with X73 - total PVR 4

- X30 evening & Sunday only (or swap route numbers around with the daytime X32 - to keep both the X32/X72 evening & Sunday only services)

- X31 up to 2bph

- X31/X70/X71 all interwork with a PVR of 8

That would reduce the low height decker requirement to 8x. No major changes other than East Stanley losing the Gateshead link although Annfield Plain & Catchgate would benefit.
RE: Vehicle Cascade 2026
Them single deckers for the X66 will probably be mainly on the 49. X66 needs deckers a lot of the time. Unless they put them on the 58. If not its gonna be a squeeze a lot of weekends.
