Baffling how these morons are still employed. 

The quicker that UK Bus realise that the people who drove the standards at Arriva NE into the ground over the last few years aren't magically good at their jobs now DB are gone, the better.

Getting rid of people in the NE wouldn’t change anything. Almost all decisions come from UK Bus. The regional commercial teams don’t generate the timetables for online either, that’s done centrally within UK Bus. Side note, there’s very little left of the North East Commercial team from DB days. So you’ve just made yourself look a little stupid there.

As already mentioned, the local teams don't control the website or app. They simply provide the data.

The shortcomings are unfortunately due to a poor central function who clearly don't understand how their regional teams need things to work.

Which is it then, do they provide the data or not. Ultimately central teams will only be able to format what they're given - and it's poor if they then release those without input from the team who actually put together the changes. Failing to QC check is such a basic error.

Enlighten me to an operation that in the North East has provided service improvements that have lasted in the last decade? You’ll struggle because there isn’t any. Do you carry the same opinions with the Go North East and Stagecoach North East commercial teams? As all have pretty much made the same decisions in the last decade.

Race to the bottom then is it? I do happen to have the same opinions on the other two large operators, and I've made posts in the past to that effect. I currently live on a Stagecoach route which I've commented on many times, the timetable is shockingly unreliable and the vehicles allocated are entirely unsuitable. 

The difference is that Arriva have came out swinging recently in the press when responding to deserved (and overdue) criticism from elected representatives and have, blatantly, lied - so forgive me for being a tad more critical of the charlatans overseeing that. 

The entire point of the commercial team should be to look to grow the network and improve services, your admission that no NE operation has done that highlights that you also agree that the Arriva commercial team would have been sacked a long time ago if they worked in any other field. 

Regarding the data: garbage in, garbage out...

To give credit where it is due to Arriva, they haven't milked BSIP funding for "goldmines" - actually using it for sensible additions and they didn't dramatically cut their network after covid unlike other operators.

They do provide the data. 

Given things like bustimes.org uses the EXACT same data set, should give you the confidence that the local team data is actually suitable. Bustimes for example can generate sensible timetables with it.

The Arrival website and app is not. One is locally controlled, the other isn't. The way the website was built, is the problem. It generates poor quality information from the exact same data set, because they wanted a minimal central input model.

On the subject of what the teams should be doing, I would argue given the business has been unable to keep staff and vehicles on the road, the last thing they can actually do is growth items. Firefighting the status quo is probably all they have the remit to do (from experience of working within the same business btw).
