RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I believe 80000 is being returned to ADL for some warrenty work before moving on to its new home, supposedly Oxford.

Also 83000 is going to be modified to have the correct number seats for its contract. No doubt once the work is done it will need recertification etc.

Delays of 60 minutes on the 37/38 this afternoon, lots of journeys cancelled to regulate drivers and get buses back operating closer to the timetable.

Disgrace. Stagecoach should throw in the towel with these services and allow a much more reputable operator to run them instead.

Something going on at Freeman Hospital today mate. No clue what. I’m a driver at Slatyford left Freeman hospital on a service 6 by the time I got down to south gosforth roundabout I was 19 minutes late. Traffic trying to get into the main carpark at the Freeman was atrocious, carpark had plenty of spaces free so not sure what was going on. All buses would have been dead late because of it. GNE’s H, Arriva 553, GCT 653, Northstar 18 and Stagecoach’s 6/7 37/38.

Tongue in cheek I’m sure.

The Sandyford Rd bridge works and accompanying central motorway works are causing chaos

The 22 was quicker than the 22X, we had X39s taking an hour from cobalt to haymarket and 307/9 running at jest 45 mins late

Think diversions will be needed at some point with a skeleton service around Sandyford and Cradlewell as this is scheduled to September

Quite. Staggering how much of an impact roadworks seem to be having upon local bus services.

Pair that with the Freeman Hospital reportedly being like a car park with traffic not moving, causing tailbacks outside of the hospital, and it is clear why there were huge delays to services passing the Freeman Hospital yesterday.

Some users of this forum would have us believe it was only the Northstar 18 which suffered delays yesterday. Thankfully everyone else has cleared that up nicely for the Stagecoach fanboy club on other threads.

It doesn't take a genius to workout that if there's roadworks, buses will ended up getting delayed. And thats even if the bus route doesn't actually go through the roadworks, as other road users that aren't restricted to fixed routes like buses are, will try and find alternative routes in the hope they avoid being delayed by roadworks thus increasing traffic on these roads delaying other bus routes.

But alas some people have blinkered vision, and don't often look at the bigger picture.

I mean the 307 is a pain in the backside at the best of times for reliability, its my local bus, can't comment on the 309

Stagecoach seem to have a habit of repainting things that have already been done a couple of years ago, instead of some that have never been done at all, like 10637 was recently repainted even though 10634 has never been painted.

Getting quite a few done now. I’d imagine 11717 (the bus that crashed into the house on Armstrong Road) will go get painted once it’s repaired.

Yeah it makes no sense. Slatyford have a lot of 106**’s and the 260**s still in Beachball plus all of the ex Stockton 262**’s. Walkergate got all the 39/40 MMC’s as well, surely some of them should be going in for repaint not the buses in local.

Stagecoach do strange things, if i remember rightly there was an incident of them repainting some ALX300's, but given how old they were, it seemed rather pointless

Indeed, one was even withdrawn before it re-entered service!

Surprised we didn't get a navy gasbus.

Apart of me wishes they get repainted and out in service as a surprise. However, I dont know if 28009, 28013, 28015 is still at sunderland depot? If they are then get them out in service if possible until they cannot go any further. (I miss them haha!)

Yes - it has been in service over a week - has tracking issues so has tracked as 83000 the last few days.

Will operate the same work as 80000 ie a school service that doesn’t track and alternate UTC runs on alternate days. Will also be used to cover mileage when services are delayed

73121 is working for Sunderland today.

Is this a permanent transfer and are we getting anymore?

Thank you to Thomas Edward Booth for the post in the Busesnortheast FB group.

Id like to say permanent with them getting 73116-73121 with 73120/121 already there. This will probably be due to the 75 plates needing to go back to Slatyford soon.
