Go North East: Rare & Odd Workings 2024

RE: Go North East: Rare & Odd Workings 2024
Yeah there seems to be a few Solos offroad at Percy Main right now. I've had a big variety on the 342 as a result, from B9's to Versa's to mini streetlites to full size streetlites. Just hope Percy Main complete the set with a Cobalt B9 instead of ex London one lol. A decker with tables would be quite a big upgrade from when I used to catch Gateshead Central Taxis Mellor or Iveco minibus on there! (GCT mostly used Enviro 200MMC's, but there was the occasional minibus).

There's been at least 3 B5s every day on the 56 for a few weeks now, first time I've seen all of them on mind.

Are they technically not spare Double Deckers now since the X20 is longer X-Lines?

Go North East is brave allowing the ex East Yorkshire Geminis to run on the X10.
But saying that they probably perform better than the MMC's and Streetdecks

That went out of the window before they even entered service.

Is it not time to scrap branding, if they can't even be arsed to put the correct buses on the routes.

X1 is the same, "We have new buses for the X1", yet everyday its not even a full allocation, as they're on other routes, you just know its going to be worse when the X1 changes next month.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

Without googling or thinking for 30 seconds ...

A GNE bus with a destination saying Polworth Drive (I have omitted the service number deliberately) I did think where on earth is Polworth Drive? Least if you make a destination board like this make it more generic so you can imagine where the hell it goes!

That journey is literally 3 stops, so people who live there will understand it Smile

But isn’t the problem with that user error by drivers, who might mistakenly put that display on too early or just for an entire board when it should say ‘Great Park’ or whatever. I’m assuming normally you just display the return journey destination (Wallsend) blind? These are short trips where it doesn’t go back? Is a separate blind destination for 3 stops required?

It’s like these Sunderland buses which have ‘Sunderland’ destinations then ‘City Centre / Park Lane’ for once they enter Sunderland, but I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen the latter used in the likes of Seaham or Peterlee.
