Yes they did that’s true. Anyone know how long they are at Carlisle for?

(17 May 2026, 12:42 pm)Kuyoyo wrote 2 of 6 deckers from across the country going on loan for the latest saga in the Preston Bus Wars pending the release of E400MMCs from Gillmoss once their charging infrastructure is online.
As for shortages of deckers - these are technically freed up by next weekend’s PVR reductions in Newcastle with the end of the BSIP funding for the 1 and 30s. As of next week, Walkergate’s PVR drops by 3 so whatever was due to be displaced by that change will hang on until 11772 and 11774 return.
Likewise Slatyford drops PVR - by 6, meaning less need to replace the 4 Yutongs which went to Rugby in exchange for Stockton retaining 73053-6.
(29 May 2026, 3:25 pm)TransitObserver wrote I’ve had confirmation today from the manager that we have 11 Yutongs currently and expecting 7 more once the chargers are complete to give us a total of 18 even though only 15 buses on 30/31/36 now.Apparently 2 deckers from Slatyford are going to Preston as well is that true
That’ll be 73184-73188 (5 buses) not sure what the other 2 will be maybe a couple of them spares like 73121 that Slatyford have and 73120 that Sunderland have because I’m sure 73116-73119 are still up for grabs.

(30 May 2026, 3:14 pm)TransitObserver wrote I’d be surprised if Slatyford do give up a couple of deckers for Preston when 10485, 10650 are long term VOR and constantly having problems with the other ones.
10485 and 10650 are in bits, both of them. I’m confused why 10485 got painted just to be broke and stripped for parts.
(30 May 2026, 7:50 pm)Rapidsnap wrote Bus companies do it all the time. Vehicles become Christmas trees donating usable parts to other vehicles to avoid having two off the road with different issues, then when all the parts come, they can restore the Christmas Tree back to servicable condition.
(03 Jun 2026, 6:51 am)TransitObserver wrote The news that Arriva are planning to close their Redcar depot and move everything to either Whitby or Stockton is sad news but it’s also got me thinking I’m surprised Stagecoach have never done it to South Shields or Hartlepool. Surely these 2 depots make the least amount of money in the North East and could easily have services ran from either Sunderland or Stockton.
(03 Jun 2026, 8:46 am)LVK 404L wrote They did reduce the ops at Shields a few years back as mentioned previously
The 30, X20, X34, E1, E2 and E6 all got moved to Sunderland
The 30 and X20 returned to Shields not long after then the X34 followed and returned to Shields operations
One of the reasons the X34 returned was Sunderland depot was on strike during this and the X34 was cancelled. Folks of Shields weren't happy as Shields were not part of strike and yet half our services were affected.
Keep Shields depot and just rebuild
We lost Northern (GNE) and look how much the services were culled as a result.
(03 Jun 2026, 9:20 am)TransitObserver wrote If I’m not mistaken them 11 plate E300’s 277**’s were new to South Shields for the E1 E2 and E6 and when the routes went to Sunderland so did them buses. I’m going to assume the drivers at South Shields weren’t happy. It would be nice for them to keep Shields and invest give them some routes back etc because like you say Sunderland on strike E1/2/6 affected shields suffer and it’s not their fault.

(Yesterday, 5:55 am)citaro5284 wrote There was a X43 between Haymarket and Cramlington which was started because Northumbria under their Hunters company decided to extend their 365/366 into Newcastle from Freeman Hospital which Busways thought would take passengers off their 38.
Both the extension and the X43 didnt last that long.
