Is there any info on any new transfers coming to slatyford or what buses are getting withdrawn next?
I agree, horrible buses!
The only things I know of are 7 more Yutongs and I believe (not guaranteed just what I’ve heard) the 61 plate E200’s 36468-36476 are next out the door. Sadly that will probably be it for the foreseeable future as Stagecoach will not invest in Slatyford depot anymore until they know what is happening with the franchising.

I was at the Metro Centre on 30th May and using the footbridge to the railway station and saw 27723 in the new dark blue with a beach ball roof. Is that normal?

If true,i will be sad those e200s will go.theyre lovely buses(bar a 1 or 2),and are 10x better than the 373**’s imo.I do still wish that they’d eradicate any 373**s instead as they currently are in a state.

Yeah that’s normal as about every single bus repainted will keep its original roof bc stagecoach just can never be bothered to paint the roof

They were good buses when Stockton had them, is it not just a case of Newcastle not been able to look after buses.

Rubbish! I was there when they were new and we had an outstation at MAN at one point there was that many there… often 3 or 4 away for work.

Does it matter?, a bus is a bus, and i suspect you probably already know the answer anyway

Interesting. Makes sense putting the EV’s on as 30/31/36 only require 15 out of the 18 buses.
I think it also makes sense running the 71 off in the evening and making the 87 run late and no 71 on Sunday but making the 87 run as it gives people more access to Newbiggin hall and westerhope since the 7 no longer runs on an evening. I think they should bring the 7 back in my opinion though.
37313 has re-entered service today for the first time since December 1st 2025 following its engine replacement. 37301 looks to follow soon (maybe via repaint) as that’s also out of the workshop having had its new engine fitted.

The PVR is 4 does this mean they will get extra electric buses or simply just use 3 with one non electric.

Yutong E12s numbers 73116/17/18/19 are unaccounted for, they were stored at Corby alongside 73120/73121 which have arrived up here recently and now in service. Wonder if those 4 are going to follow them up.

I’d imagine one 72 will still be integrated with a scholar service so will still need a decker so the 87, 71 and other 72 would be EV so only need 3.

I would like to think so. Sunderland have 5 of Slatyford’s Yutongs which will go back soon. Slatyford will also need 2 more and Sunderland will need buses to replace the ones going back to Slatyford. I can see other buses coming from somewhere as there’s only 4 Yutongs unaccounted for and Sunderland will need 5 and Slatyford 2 so see what they do.

(03 Jun 2026, 6:51 am)ITransitObserver wrote The news that Arriva are planning to close their Redcar depot and move everything to either Whitby or Stockton is sad news but it’s also got me thinking I’m surprised Stagecoach have never done it to South Shields or Hartlepool. Surely these 2 depots make the least amount of money in the North East and could easily have services ran from either Sunderland or Stockton.

RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Apparently 2 of Slatyford’s 61 plate E200’s have gone down to either Stockton or Hartlepool. 36469 and 36470. I would imagine Hartlepool unsure if they’re transfers or being stored awaiting disposal. If they’re transfers I can see the rest heading down once the rest of the Yutongs come to Slatyford.
