RE: New Housing near Palmersville
(56 minutes ago)Nerd4321 wrote I see the 19 is being routed out of East Bailey which tbf is actually a good idea since the 354 & 356 currently do the same thing.
I wonder if the 19 from Cramlington will be routed through the bottom part of Killingworth Moor as it seems to link up to that road instead of following the back road
The 38 seems decent tbf giving people in the part of that area a bus link to Killingworth. It wouldn't surprise me that the 353 is routed to do a loop of the housing estate as well
I will say this is amazing that they are working with people for bus routes since places like the two housing estates near alpha. Them two have 2 bus routes being the X7/X8 yet have nothing in the estate and its a hell of a walk to the bus stops that go nowhere unless you want to go to Newcastle or Cramlington/Blyth
See I think the 38 is too long winded like that.
Personally I'd move the 18/37/38/X7/X63 all around and create something like:
X7: Newcastle to Blyth via Killingworth (Every 30 Minutes)
37/38: Killingworth/Benton Loop (Every 20 Minutes Each)
18: Extended to Cramlington via Killingworth (Every 30 Minutes)
Agreed with whoever said the 37/38 are just too long right now and the X7 is pointless now with the new railway line and the loadings at the Eastern side back it up. It's just completely useless as it shadows the train or takes you to Blyth and few people want to go to Blyth. The 37/X8 also duplicating each other right now and extending the 18 would open new Cramlington/Burradon to Byker/Heaton/Walker links - if someone wants them. There's literally minimum use for cross Freeman links currently though.
Killingworth would also get an express evenings and Sunday's aswell since the X63 doesn't run those times.
Unless the loads improve on the X7 you could make a case for upping it to every 20 minutes as far as Tillmouth Avenue (do a loop) and drop the rest of it to hourly. Whenever I see it beyond Elsdon Avenue towards Blyth you could fit everyone on a bread van most the time.
