Stagecoach service suggestions

RE: Stagecoach service suggestions
Northstar 873/874/875 omitted to Stagecoach with some refurbishments

873:
Durham Railway-High Force Hotel Service withdrawn and turned into service X873 beetween Durham Railway and Alston instead of High Force Hotel VIA A690 and A689

874:
Durham Railway-Beamish Museum not withdrawn but ran every 30 minutes on 6 weeks opening time and every hour on normal opening time

875:
Durham Railway-Shildon Locomotive Park Service withdrawn on sundays . Three runs every weekday and four runs every saturday
RE: Stagecoach service suggestions
Why would Stagecoach be more suitable than Northstar?
My understanding is the 873 is being quite well used to Barnard Castle land Teesdale. Though I do agree a service into Weardale on Sundays/Bank Holidays would be nice.
Every 30 mins to Beamish Museum would seem overkill, especially as it is possible to get there on ordinary bus services. (That is "real life" bus users behaviour - I heard people waiting for 874 chatting about how they normally visit Beamish by a simple change to 28/29 at Chester le St.) But I agree in peak season a regular service direct from Durham on other days would be nice.
But we need to remember that all these are heavily subsidised...

Yes it's that simple.

A new 10A beetween Jarrow and Horsley Hill Square will be ran every hour Monday-Saturday and then a 10B on a sunday.

The 10 and 11 is too long imo, and your 10A/10B terminating at Horsley Hill doesn't really make sence
Imo the 10/11 should be a faster alternative to Jarrow then a new 14/14A take up some of the current 10/11 to Jarrow, you could even send the 10/11 back through to North Shields  and the 14/14A through to Wallsend
Kind Regards
Tez

I know there's operator issues but there's an awful lot of dog leg South Shields to Jarrow routes.

Personally I'd be trying to get rid of the 10/11/25/26/50 instead somehow and have 3 nice clean services, one being the 50.
RE: Stagecoach service suggestions
As a regular user of the 10/11 I agree with the suggestion of reducing the length of the route, I would remove the mile end road loop, also the journey via the interchange to cheviot road section and hill park estate.
The mile end road to cheviot road is long enough to have at least an hourly service.
The hill park section could be replaced by a route change to the 319 service which could go up and down in about 4/5 minutes.
The revised route would be interchange to westoe, then follow 8 route to the Nook then existing route to Jarrow which would reduce the route by at least 15 minutes and there should be no reduction in the 30 minute daytime service, bearing in mind GNE reduced the 26 to hourly, the10/11 is a link to the hospital.

516 be brung back.
And a couple reasons

1.If ran every hour , good transportation beetween areas like Town Centre , Ocean Road , Lake Avenue and other areas of Marsden
2.Good for Hospital workers
3.Good conection and no overlays at most places

I knkw the 516 was Stagecoach , but before that was it GCT ?

Everything you listed is what it did before it was withdrawn

Clearly didn't work well if it was withdrawn

Assuming franchising here, I'd just swap the 10/11/26 around.

Have it like:
R1: 26 from Jarrow to Hospital omitting Kirkstone Avenue, 10/11 from Hospital to South Shields (Every 30 Minutes)
R2: 10/11 from Jarrow to Hospital additionally doing Kirkstone Avenue, 26 from Hospital to South Shields (Every 30 Minutes)

It means everything from the West side has a faster service to South Shields and everything from the East side has a faster service to Jarrow because no-one realistically is going end to end unless they're bored with both major towns having a fast link to hospital.

It was GNE before GCT, but it is now registered as services 12 & 13 so they are unlikely to bring it back.
