As nobody else provided their opinion, I shall.
It's nice for buses to enter the world of restoration and preservation but I think there are very few worthy candidates left. If nobody in the North East opted to preserve an Alexander PS, I highly doubt anyone will preserve a low-floor Alexander ALX300.
I think the elderly Alexander ALX300s are quite nice, and it makes a nice change to ride one in Sunderland where we practically have a fleet of ADL Enviro200s and ADL Enviro300 gas buses (we have 22214/15 in an active reserve capacity). South Shields has 22734 and I love it when this one crops up on the E1/E2/E6 services, even though it lacks power somewhat. That said, I think those down on Teesside will be glad to see the back of them, as they've had them left right and centre for many years now.
