By GNE website states "The Red Kite service which follows the Red Kite trail from Newcastle and Metrocentre to Rowlands Gill and Consett will receive new vehicles, as will the Lime service. The Lime is being renamed Coast & Country to reflect that it follows the coast to country cycle track from Consett to Sunderland passing through Stanley, Beamish and Washington."

As I said yesterday and Murdno has said today, they have got the name of the cycle route wrong.

Even wikipedia has two names. The third one (which looks like it is completely made up), which adorns the expensive new vehicles, isn't even on the wikipedia site. Never mind the official one.

It is like re-branding the 20 as the Wear to Wetherspoons, seeing as it follows the W2W cycle route, between Sunderland and Durham.

The 78 may follow the C2C, it may go from Coast to Country and vice versa, but the cycleway it is supposedly named after (according to the press release), isn't the Coast to Country.

Basic stuff, but quite embarrassing for them if Sustrans ever pick up on it.
