I work late evenings and Sundays and would give my right arm to have the x34 operate later at night and Sundays and bank holidays. The way it is at the moment I have to endure a 20 mins walk off the metro through the so called 'nature reserve' to get home. Which isn't always a safe route.
I'm in the same boat as you, sometimes I need to get to parts of South Shields quite late on a night that aren't served by a metro which means I'm faced with an extra 30 minutes in travel time from the metro, so I would also like to see it extended. However as a commercial service it's down to whether or not enough people would pay to use it so as to generate profit, even if it had to be subsidised that'd be an improvement on the current level of service provided. Sundays however I believe it could do quite well, during Christmas time when it was provided on that day passenger numbers weren't too bad, and if it was advertised enough then I think it could be a good investment
