However, as Weardale have got rid of the majority of their Leyland Olympians, I'm not sure if the attraction is still there to do something similar again. I am also reluctant to organise any more trips of any nature as plenty of people are willing to attend but when it comes to the day (Weardale trip excepted), the numbers are low and I have been out of pocket.
However, if there are 50 people with a penchant for 70 seat Dennis Javelins, then enquire within!
I visited their Consett depot on Wednesday. Ex Go-Ahead Metrobus C777OCN was still there but appeared to be out of use.
I think a group trip would be a great idea. Derwentside has some interesting operators. For example Nightingale, Stanley Taxis and Gillinghams to name a few. I for one would try and attend.
By the way Croft Taxis (Croft Business Services Ltd) are now located on the same industrial estate at Hownsgill as Weardale. A couple of minutes walk from the Weardale depot. They've got a small fleet of psv and non-psv minibuses.
