With the BBC enforcing a ban on "all-male" panels on shows last year, it implies that a female will be part of the three new presenters. Jodie Kidd? Carol Vorderman? Suzi Perry? They all like their cars.

Clarkson was on, in a little Top Gear segment with Clarkson.
He had that Welsh lass from The One Show in the crowd, standing alongside Suzy Perry...
Depending when Top Gear is filmed/broadcast, it could fit in with the F1 season (if Perry continues doing it).
Also, the number of live F1 broadcasts by the BBC, is going to be reduced.
