Suppose you have me on the bit in bold Tongue On the topic, why are the Diamond Citaros (and any other vehicles) gaining manual ramps as opposed to the electric ramps they already have installed?

My fault for getting us on to GNE, but best if we try not to get us any more off-topic...

If the automatic ramp hits something (whether this is the kerb itself or something on the pavement), they often have problems after that. Although less convenient for drivers, the manual ramps are a lot more reliable.

Of course; there is a period between the incident occurring and the ramp itself being fixed, so customers in wheelchairs would have to be turned away for the interim period (often after the driver tries his/her best to get it to work!) A disabled customer in the Stanley area started a petition on Facebook to have these ramps removed, which has really sped up the process of the manual ramps being fitted to vehicles based at Stanley. The process has been ongoing for quite some time now, but obviously when you're converting everything new from 2006 (or thereabouts) to 2013... It would often be a bus from one depot one week, another from another depot the next week, and so on, but for the past two months or so, it's been Diamond Merc after Diamond Merc.
