I don't understand the name? Perhaps it's because I'm not local to understand the reference...
The idiom, "to connect the dots", means to draw logical inferences by connecting different pieces of information to reveal something previously unknown.
I get that the services these vehicles will be allocated to connect various places ('dots'?) to the town centre - but what is previously unknown about this, and what are we inferring?
Maybe I've read too much into it...
