Annoyingly, an all too often occurrence in the world. It's too easy for people to call others names for doing their job (and doing it effectively), without actually knowing what their role entails. A classic case of engaging mouth before brain.
Heck, us techies just sit switching everything off and back on all day...

I'm all for it, in conjunction with a wider marketing strategy. It's never a bad thing to engage the local community, and especially the schools. We've done it before for naming competitions and such.
