I can't actually recall this happening before with a new branding or branding relaunch? It's always been the case that the vehicles would get their base colour, and then appear on the first day of 'new service' with their decals added. Maybe in hindsight GNE would have prioritized the Coaster rebrands above the MetroLink repaints for example.
