I remember my grandma telling me that when she was walking towards 5397 at the launch in Chester-le-Street, a rough old couple come up to her, with ice cream all over their mouths and about five teeth between the two of them, going absolutely crackers about the ''free ice cream''. She said she could bargain on it being the only reason they came into town.
