To break up the turkey leftover/chocolate/rubbish TV monotony, I had a trip out to North Yorkshire the other day - specifically around the Esk Valley.
It is a lovely, unspoilt part of the region - miles away from anything, but so easy to get to.

Specific to this post, was a stop off in Grosmont and a wander round the engine sheds.
Mainly diesel loco workings (coupled with a railcar) on the day I was there, there was a bit of shunting and some work on some engines in the sheds.

The gift shop had the usual stuff, likely to be found for sale in a gift shop - but amongst that, were some DVD's for sale showing workings of trains around the lost lines of North Durham, some United memorabilia and some very reasonably priced model buses (non-local I am afraid).
