That's always something I've disliked about Trent.
A close friend of mine who is a regular visitor to the places that Trent serve and I always argue about whose ideas are better - Trent's or GNE's.
I prefer numbers, having a colour is not sufficient in my eyes. I know Trent's don't overlap and they stand no chance of ever meeting, but there are multiple routes with one colour and that's just a no-go for me. Fair enough having different buses with the same base colour and different branding, but not the destination itself. That's far too confusing.
Not only that, but these destination screens would be a hell of a lot more expensive and harder work to code, no doubt...
