According to a Chester driver, the 21 will be getting StreetDeck's next year, whether there's much truth in this I'm unsure.

At least if that were to happen, the buses on the 21 would likely to be the same specification as the StreetDeck's on the X21 which would be good on evenings and Sundays when the X21 interworks with the 21 using the Angel branded buses. If the Volvo B5LH's were to be taken off the 21, where would they go? The current double decker branded routes use buses of similar age to the hybrids, so I think if they are taken off the 21 they would either convert a single decker route to double deck operation (27 possibly) or become corporate liveried buses to see off the President's and possibly the Vykings.
