Additional journeys would run Metro Centre - Dunston - Gateshead (49B) to give a bus every 7/8 mins.
Services 31/32 and 49/49A/49B would be branded Blaydon Racer using 5275-83 and 5320-24.

I think the TEN brand is a strong brand despite the subnumbers and doesn't really need changing. Got a good customer base and good marketing.
Not knocking your ideas though; someone else might agree with you on the TEN brand.
