Full height Enviro 400's and B7's operated the route when it was in the hands of ANE, so I don't see height being an issue.
I believe a double decker is required due to the school runs at the beginning and end of the day.
I haven't seen too many single deckers on the 448 (and therefore 434) recently, with it being a red thing or a Gemini 2 every day I've seen it in the past few weeks.
