I wasn't even aware they still ran diesels on those routes! Last time I caught any east coast or Xcountry trains on a regular basis was long before Big'un happened and it was still intercity 125 and 225s - if you were idiot enough, you could open the door windows on a 125, as you needed to do that to get off when it stopped, anyhow!
